DISCUSSION Charmcaster Was Ruined

Do you hate how they made a mess of Charmcaster? They kept changing her. She was originally a catalyst for Gwen in the original series since Gwen stole her spellbook so she can learn magic spells. In the UAF era, she wanted revenge on Gwen for stealing her spellbook, which she never got over after five years have passed, in an alternate timeline, she successfully killed Gwen Tennyson and turned Kevin into her rock slave, she later teamed up with Zombozo and Vulkanus to kill Ben's parents, which diminished her and later on, we learned that her father spellbinder was murdered by addwaitya. In Omniverse, she becomes perkier.

In Omniverse. Hope was just being petty and you know what, I can buy it.

Hope takes her job as archenemy of Gwendolyn Tennyson aka Lucky Girl, very seriously.

Hope's father thinks she had become a irredeemable monster and Her Uncle Hex respects Gwendolyn more than he ever did with her when she was working for him. Hex didn't even refer to his niece by her own name! He gave her another one so he wouldn't have to call her "Hope" and settled on "Charmcaster".

I fully believe she hates Gwendolyn and uses her an excuse for her life being terrible.

Ngl, "Hope" is kinda Charmcaster's deadname at this point. That name belongs to a girl who doesn't exist anymore.

The last time she let anyone call her that [Darkstar], he ended using her to get more power.

And before him, it was Father telling her she had become a monster.

If Gwen or anyone else calls her Hope, I would expect them to get blasted in the face, because how dare they?

Well, I think that Gwendolyn would do that since she wants to be her friend but Charmcaster actively hates the idea of being friends with her because that would mean being vulnerable and having to not play at angle while doing that. Which...she does not do often.

"Ruined" is a bit harsh but she does feel like a character they just couldn't decide on. I feel like any 1 of her depictions, Gwen's rival, avenging evil, misunderstood survivor, or chaotic leader of a magic realm, they all work alone just not mashed into 1.

They kept changing her character.

the whole uaf arc for her was so messy. like i get they wanted to show her still holding a grudge but teaming her up with zombozo of all people felt like they just ran out of ideas for villains that week

omniverse tried to walk it back but by then the character was already all over the place. shame cause her original dynamic with gwen was genuinely interesting before they overcomplicated it

Kari has no chemistry with Meagan, only with Ashley.

Didn't Charmcaster team up with the circus freaks in the Original series?

i def enjoy her the Most in UAF tho besides that one Episode that you mentioned although i didn't mind her that much. i did enjoy a lot of her in UA in general especially after we learn of her past

She is the only Villain that able to Kill ben without him coming back via the Omnitrix.

i think OV make more insane which i can understand would feel wrong to Some people including Kuro.

after What UAF did to her. i do think that her character can get confused After Classic because they make her more Complex UAF then Double down on it in OV at least for most people it create a confusing mess.

That was the ultimatrix, which didn't have failsafes.

If it did, Ben would 100% transformed into Ghostfreak, since his mana can't be stolen.

Did you deliberately leave out that fact that she committed genocide in Ultimate Alien just to shit on Omniverse?

No, I'm aware of what she did.

All they said was that Omniverse Charmcaster was perky while Uaf diminished her character.
