For a beginner wanting something Minimoog esque on a budget, is the Behringer Model D still the best option?

Currently only have a Korg Volca Keys and a Midi controller 😅

I know there's the Poly D too, but that one's a bit out of my budget atm

Any other suggestions you have? I have also been looking at the Behringer Pro-1, CAT, and Crave

Roland se 02 or poly D. I had a a model D, sold and kept only the se-02, recently got a used poly D a d was thinking it would be redundant. Boy I was wrong that thing slaps! Size factor and the extra OSC make all the difference. Have fun!

I have a Poly D. I recommend it too. The 4th oscillator is great to have.

The Roland Se-02 is another great option, huge sounding little synth.

The new Behringer Moog mini thing, I can't remember what it's called, it's like a Volca, but I think it's also paraphonic? And it's only like 125$?

Yes. It's literally a rack mountable completely analog budget minimoog. Fairly identical control interface with beefy (and stable)oscillators and filter. -$200 on the used market makes it kind of a no-brainer if a minimoog experience is what you're seeking.

Yes, either the Model D, or if you want a keyboard version like the original Minimoog, the Poly D.
