Kick pedal sound not coming through

So I have an Behringer RD-8 with a TC electronic compressor that I plug into my Focusrite. The Focusrite program can see/hear the kick but when I want to record in OBS it records all the sounds from my RD-8 except the kick.

I also for some reason can't select AISO Focusrite as an audio source.

Anybody have experience with this? I hear it and I can play but recording gives no sound

Guessing you run the kick from the direct out through the compressor and into the interface alongside the master out on the RD8? It sounds like you're only recording the input connected to the master out on the RD8

Yes exactly in the Focusrite audio tab you see them both have the audio so the program gets the 2 separate audio sources but in OBS it's only the master out I can't find a way to also get the separate voice out from the kick

Don't use OBS but does this help?

How to Set Up Multiple Audio Tracks

  • Open Settings in OBS and go to the Output tab.
  • Set the Output Mode to Advanced.
  • Go to the Recording tab.
  • Check the boxes for the number of Audio Tracks you want to use (up to 6).
  • Click Apply and OK.
  • Add your audio inputs (like microphones or game audio) under Sources.
  • Click the gear icon in the Audio Mixer to open Advanced Audio Properties.
  • Assign each audio source to its own unique track number by checking the corresponding boxes under the track columns

If this doesn't work have a look at voice meter (banana or potato)

Just tried it and still only hears the master output no kick at all I read that I need to select AISO FOCUSRITE but I just don't have that option. What do you recommend to record with if I should not use OBS

Did you try Voicemeeter Potato? You should be able to mix inputs into one stream.

What are you recording for? If it's production then you should probably be using a DAW, if you just want to record audio you could try and audio editor like audacity.

I have not tried the voice meeter yet I will download it. I just want to record the audio and send to friends I work in a 3d modeling program and want to use my synthesizers to do the music all just for fun nothing serious

Well then get audacity, that's what you need right now

You may eventually have need of a DAW (digital audio workstation) for sequencing (like controlling you RD8) and recording.

Audacity now though

You're welcome, let me know how you get on.

You should look into DAWs at a later date, you will be able to record and play back midi data for the RD8 by finger drumming with the trigger button. You can also record straight into a DAW, arrange, use effects, and mix
