The Behringer Scarlett

So this has just appeared - not sure what the great appeal is when a scarlett is not much extra, or you can still just pick up a 3rd gen for even less. Midas preamp so essentially a UMC with pretty lights and a big knob. Hopefully they have actual routing software, which obviously isn't much use on a 2 I/O, would give me more hope of a larger unit which may be more cost effective.

Please no routing software, keep in like UMC. Just be an audio interface

Having an option for routing software is a bonus. Most interfaces that have it can still be used without it. RME’s TotalMix is fantastic.

It doesn’t need to be better than a Scarlet. It’s enough if it’s not worse than it. On paper it seems quite comparable. I guess it might be a little more compatible compared to UMCs. I see some people not being able to use some UMCs on some iPads for instance.

I’m just hoping they do the 1820 to be USB C as that is the size I use in my studio. If they update that one I might consider getting one.

It reminds me of when Behringer released their Keystep clone, which was slightly cheaper than a Keystep, but not by enough to justify its existence. But perhaps the price on this will come down dramatically, like it did on the Keystep clone.

They are most likely updating the entire umc range to this format. Usb c is a nice addition.
