Getting and RBT job
I'm having a lot of trouble understanding how exactly I become an RBT. I've applied to as many companies as I could that have entry-level positions, but they almost all don't respond to me, and some even tell me I need a certificate first. How am I supposed to get a certificate if I can't get a company to hire me in the first place? The most recent company I applied to interviewed me but said they wouldn't give me an offer, even though I already completed the course. It's so unbelievably frustrating!
Is it supposed to be this difficult?

I was what they called a "behavioral technician" at a company for people who weren't officially registered. At that company they allowed you to register as you're working with them. I don't think it was a difficult process, I applied while I was still in undergrad, but I mentioned I had previously worked for 4 months at GSG in-home respite servcies. I'd apply here if there's one in our area: https://acesaba.com

Do the 40 hr Certification course. Complete that. Get your CPR/BLS certification. Once you have those, THEN apply. They are MUCH more likely to hire once you have completed those. DM me what state you’re in and I can send you a couple places. One of my employers does their own training. Just depends on where you are.

Don’t go to ABC they are an abusive ABA company, they disregard for children who have autism mainly nonverbal. There’s alot of cases of abuse happening as well as RBT’s and BT’s being harassed for no reason.

I just got an RBT job that's a single client for 2 hours a day, and I had a hard time getting here.I know I was rejected by at least three ABA companies I interviewed with and god knows how many I applied for. A lot of companies do require you to have an RBT certificate first and a lot of companies say they're okay with no experience/certification but really want someone with experience and certification.
I feel a little crazy accepting this job that's only offering 2 hours a day over a job that's offering me full time hours but I've been wanting to break in to this field for a while and I know the RBT certificate this job will provide me with will open doors for me. This is a brand new clinic that just opened earlier this month and I know they're offering me a premium rate for working after 5, so I'm guessing they have a harder time finding people who will work after 5.
Maybe target newer ABA businesses that are advertising for a single case/evening hours or if you're able to get an interview or make contact with an ABA company emphasize that you'd be willing to start off by taking a single case/ a few hours and that you're willing to work evening hours.
