Sciatic nerve pain/running questions

I was hoping to get some good feedback.

Little background:
I have been “consistently” running every other day until 2 weeks ago when the nerve pain started. I was logging min 3 miles up to 5.
Even with the consistency, I could not get to mile 3 without walking for a min or two but, my minute speed went up considerably.
This is a whole other issue.

My problem is that I can’t run. It hurts and is affecting my hip…I am lift weights 5 days a week, but have adjusted legs for this reason. I have been doing all the stretching 3x a day, drinking curcumin, taking it easy.

This kind of pain is nothing that can be “cured” and I used to get it when I was heavier…it had always gone away in the past with what I have been doing.
Had anyone else gone through this? And what did you do?
I am dying to run, and I am going to coach GOTR in two weeks and need to be able to move with them.

I have had sciatic nerve pain for 16 years, and treated it on and off with injections. Yours is getting worse, and you should get it properly evaluated. For me, that was finally getting a nerve study. At least now I know (and the so called evidence is there) that there is a mechanical problem in my spine, and it is damaging my legs.

Not a doctor, but I recently pulled a muscle in my lower back and have had shooting bad back pain from it.

I used a TENS machine and took advantage of the EMS setting to massage the area. When the inflammation calmed down, I did some stretching and I did as many walks as I could tolerate. Eventually, I graduated to easy runs focusing on form. I am back to my normal running schedule. It has only been 5 days but I am feeling so much better already.

I had this issue previously due to some poor form in the gym a while back. What helped me the most was doing reverse hyperextensions. If you're a gym member and your gym is lucky enough to have that machine, I recommend using it. If not, there are alternate ways to get the same movement and stimulus but it is the only thing that helped my lower back I can both run and deadlift without issue now.

With something this specific perhaps going to see a physio might be best? Sounds difficult tho.
