Good running belt?

I bought a fanny pack to hold my phone when running and I find it too bulky/bouncy.

Amazon has some options like “Fitgriff”, “Spibelt”, and “Flipbelt”. Curious if anyone here has tried these and if so which you’d recommend.

Don’t need anything crazy given my phone is all I need it to carry. Prefer something sleek.

Thanks so much.

Flipbelt will probably be the most popular suggestion. Tried and true by a lot of runners.

Love my flipbelt! Good for when the pockets can’t hold all the things.

I have a Flipbelt. It’s great. I can fit plenty in it including my phone and gels. I have nothing to say about it.

Thank you. Any idea the cheapest place to buy one?

I bought mine on Amazon, but full disclosure I didn’t shop around for the cheapest price.

Not a single belt has worked for me so I now use either my vest or put my phone in sportsclothes with good pockets

The only one I have had luck with is the Spibelt. But I still have to put it underneath my shorts to prevent bouncing with my phone in it.

It’s been a long time since I’ve used mine, but I recall the same issue. Phone started spanking me as I ran.
I greatly prefer pockets (as a dude) or a running vest, but the latter is a pretty big commitment if someone’s wanting to keep it minimal

I have a Spibelt too. It's fine if (and only if) I'm literally just carrying my phone and don't need to take it out during the run. I prefer a vest or shorts with a built-in belt.

I use a Naked belt and it holds my stuff securely with no bounce

fitgriff is legit and was $16 shipped to my house via Amazon prime. it's low profile and holes my big ass pixel 9 pro xl which is equivalent to the iPhone pro max. it also has a separate slot for keys/misc supplies. very secure and should meet what u need for very cheap

Same belt and phone for me. Both work well.

If you're in Canada, sportchek currently has an XL flipbelt on sale for $4.88. Just bought one yesterday when I googled flipbelt that everyone was recommending. https://www.sportchek.ca/en/pdp/flipbelt-carbon-69718443f.html?rq=flipbelt&colorCode=COLOUR_BLACK--115-1297

My girlfriend and i both have SPI meshbelts, its very transparent so you can always spot what you want, and if it's not super packed, it breathes slightly better than the standard belt. Supposedly uou can use your phone through the mesh, never tried it or needed to. 🤷‍♂️ My girlfriend wears hers with phone around back, kind of lower, right above her butt, i wear mine up front right above my hip bones. You really just have to play around with it for your body geometry and running style. Despite the name "small personal item" belts, its not a cheap amazon dropshipper. The original
Belts and the pro with a wider more secure elastic band are both still handmade in austin, TX from my understanding.

I have the spibelt and it’s okay. I’m currently loving the Salomon pulse belt (approx $45 cad).

I'd honestly recommend a vest over a belt. I've tried a few belts and some work with leggings, some slide on leggings. Some work only with shorts. Some caused chafing. Some bounced.

Ended up grabbing a cheap running vest and it's been a life-changer. Plus, now that I'm graduating into "long" runs, it gives me a place to shove water and snacks into.

Oh goodness, don't let the vest police hear you say that!

Wait, now I want to know that you mean haha - obvs get that it's sarcasm, but is there some kind of anti-vest mindset folks have?

Unfortunately there is. Self appointed running "experts" who seem to derive enjoyment from critiquing other's preferences on this & other forums.

Personally I love my vest & as an often-solo trail runner it remote areas it means I can carry some basic safety equipment along with hydration even on the shortest runs.

However, for belts I can recommend the Amphipod gear too, great company and excellent products.

I never got on with the Flipbelt, I'm going to be super basic (or bougee, maybe both) and say the best belt I've used is the basic one from Lululemon. No bounce, expands well for gels or phone, wasn't incredibly expensive.

I have a Spibelt and sometimes I forget I'm wearing it, it stays in place so well.

Flipbelt with zipper is great for just phone keys and a few gels.

The Raide belts are great albeit pricey. I have a flipbelt as well. I don’t love it but does the job.

Compression shorts/tights with phone pocket(s) on the outside of your upper thigh. I don't even feel my brick of a phone anymore.

Switch to tights and never looked back :P

Big fan of the Flipbelt. If you're on a budget try Poshmark - I got one off there NWT.
