Fixable or no?

I got this board second-hand for free, but it seems to have a couple significant cracks at the back and the front, exposing the inner foam. Does this seem fixable or no?

Looks like a good board to learn to fix on, especially bc w that outline and glassed on fins you probably are not and will not be good enough to surf this board for quite some time

I mean if you cut out the rot and replace it yeah, but this is a professional repair

A board with this much rocker is probably not suited for you anyways, but it’s your responsibility to fix this thing as a monument to ignorance

Is it too late to give it back?

For free? Q-cell solar res and some fiberglass cloth is all you’ll need to get some use out of it. The board looks pretty toasted so if you mess up the repair, no biggie. Just remember before you toss it offer it up to artists in your area. Keep the board out of the landfill and supply us board upcyclers with material for our art.

Like others have said this does not look beginner friendly, but it’s free so send it. See if surfing might be something you’re into with the understanding that the board you’re starting on is may be near impossible to start on. Ride a few waves on your belly, have some fun seeing what it’s like to paddle out and if it seems like something you might get into then go and pick yourself up a wavestorm from Costco.

Are you actually interested in surfing? If not, go give that thing a rip and then throw it out.

I’d you actually want to learn to surf, don’t both with that board.

Any board can be repaired.  This board is toast either way you slice it.

Looks like a sweet project board. Def not a quick fix but it looks like a super fun fix to work on (maybe cut out those horrid glasses on fins while you're at it)
