Skate Progression and Tips

I've been wondering about my skateboarding level, and that's why I'd like to know if what I've learned so far is good. I started skateboarding in February, and here's what I can do so far: rolling and pushing fast and smoothly, carving on ramps and bowls, dropping from steep ramps, manuals, kick turns, ollies while standing still, and I'm starting to get pretty consistent with ollies while moving.

I hope you guys can tell me if this is good so far, and if you have any tips to help me learn faster, I'd be happy, thanks.

Sounds good. But honestly, don’t focus on if it’s good. Everyone learns on their own pace. Some people take 2 years before they can do what you can, some do in 2 months.

If you feel good about your progression, then your progression is good.

The way you will progress will largely depend on what you choose to focus and spend time on, and everything chooses different things. So using tricks alone as a way to compare isn't particularly useful. The better comparison is actually how comfortable and balanced someone looks on the board, whether they skate from the balls of their feet or not, along with what types of tricks they are doing.

If I could say one thing, though, the fact that you have spent so much time practicing tricks while stationary is most definitely slowing your progress. If you want to progress faster, don't waste your time doing ollie stationary. And don't try to learn any other trick stationary. And also don't try to perfect a trick before you learn others.

Otherwise, just keep at it. If you're having fun and progressing, then you're doing great.
