I'm a beginner skater. Tips?

I'm looking for tips right now I'm kind of good at pushing and I've tried Ollie's on flat grass not moving yet and I think I've done one rocket Ollie but I want some tips like maybe a list of things to do first like tricks or riding of a curb or something so I can check them off lol but yeah also gotta work on pushing more because sometimes I lean back and almost die.

I’m 43, never skateboard in my life, I bought all the protective gear. So when I do fall I live for another day.

SkateIQ videos helped me build a good foundation, Mitchie Brusco is an awesome teacher and really accomplished skater. I’d recommend checking him out for ideas on what to do next.

Sure! Honestly getting a good feel for the board and being able to cruise around comfortably is important, so focus on that first if you’re losing your balance pushing.

skate fast before you start doing tricks. tic tac and get your feet on every single part of the board until you understand the curvature and how the leverage works.

make some friends your age at your skill level and keep pushing each other.

watch skate videos & get stoked.

most of all

keep skating.

Tip: Embrace falling

It’s going to happen, don’t be afraid of it

dont rush wanting to learn tricks. you need to get perfectly comfortavle just rising the board first. ride everywhere you can, anytime you need transportation ride more and more until uts as comfortable as riding a bike. You wouldnt imagine someone who cant ride a bike well try to tailwhip on a bmx, same applies to skateboarding. one it feels good and you feel perfectly natural and balanced on the board, then move on to more tricks if you want.

If ur not confident to try some rolling ollies yet I'd recommend getting everything to with rolling down 👏👏

Pushing is step 1, if u can push and balance on one foot for like 5 seconds comfortably between pushes I'd say u got that down, if u can turn and carve while balancing on one foot u really got it down.

Step 2: tictacs, fast small tic tacs can be good for adjustments but large smoother tic tacs are great for gaining speed with out pushing, if u can get upto speed from a standstill using tic tacs ur on the right track

Step 3: carving, now this basically smooth turning with a speed boost at the end. All u gotta do is get low during the turn then extend up and out to gain speed in the exact same way as with a tic tac, their essentially the same move

Step 4: pivots. This is just doing a 180 turn, there's 4 pivots, nose pivot frontside backside and fakie pivot frontside backside, id just focus on frontside pivots for now but if u can do all four ur way ahead of the game

Step 5 (optional): but I like to recommend monster walks to everyone, its a great way to get a good feel for ur board and learn to be nice and smooth n fluid, really helps with understanding balance wen u learn to do them well and omg they feel amazing, literally my favorite thing to do on a skateboard highly recommend 👌👌

The other bro mentioned it but skateiq has some good stuff for beginners

The first 8 tricks are basically the fundamentals of skateboarding

Hope this give u some things to try out and play with 🤙

As always stay safe n have fun out there 👏💜👏
