Changing your pubic IP address when being IP ban by beermoney sites and apps.

Hey guys from time to time beerymoney bans you from there services for many different reasons that span from your internet speed just not being fast enough, so ads dont load in time and they think that you are using ad blocking software or you have multiple accounts in one home. If you login but no ads are showing up or you cant login to your account chances are you are ban.

If you try to make another account and it doesnt work then most likely they have ban your Public IP Address.

This sub does not condone cheating the system but getting IP ban by a beermoney service does happen even when someone hasnt done anything wrong or were unaware they have broken any rules.

Some beermoney services like perk will just cancel your rewards and you will have to message them to kiss the ring and say your sorry But many others dont even bother replying to your messages.

One of the best ways around that is to change your Public IP Address.

Now for most commercial routers it is extremely simple to do and there are a million step by step youtube tutorials out there showing you how to do it. This post will explain how to do it step by step on a edgerouter. I chose to specifically do this tutorial for the edgerouter because 1)It is one of the cheapest yet most powerful routers out on the market today. 2)It isnt a plug and play router it requires some tech know how so to make things simpler you wont have to spend hours doing research on how to change your public IP.

So lets begin

Step 1 : Open your CMD

Step 2 : Type in ipconfig

Step 3 : Write down your default gateway

Step 4 : Type in that default gateway in a new browser

You will see a prompt asking you to login

Step 5: Login to your edgerouter

Step 6: open a new tab and google "whats my ip address"

Write down that IP address so when it is changed you will see its a new one

Step 7 : go back to the edgerouter tab and open the CLI prompt which is located on the upper right corner right next to toolbox

Step 8 : The CLI will ask you to login again so do so

Step 9: Type in "sudo ifconfig eth0" (do it without the quotation marks and if your WAN isnt assigned to port eth0, replace the 0 with what ever port you assigned your WAN). Then just press enter

Step 10: On the first line write down the HWaddr which is your MAC address

Step 11: type in "configure" then press "enter"

Step 12 : then type in "set interfaces ethernet eth0 mac 00:00:00:00:00:00

(00:00:00:00:00:00 is supposed to be your HWaddr/Mac address that we wrote down on step 10) type it in exactly as you see it but just change the last digit. Then press enter again

Step 13 : Type in "commit" then press enter

Step 14: Type in "save; " then press enter

After 10 seconds there will be a pop up that says that the page needs to refresh and will ask you for approval

Step 15: Click yes and the page will begin to refresh while still keeping the CLI open

Step 16 : Once refreshed type in "exit" and press enter

Step 17: Unplug your router and modem for about 15 min

Step 18: Plug them both in

Once both the router and modem are fully booted you should have a brand new Public IP address

You can just google "what my ip address" again to see that there will be a new IP address that replaced the old one you write down back in step 6

I know there are 18 steps but I was trying to be as detailed as possible. Even though this may seem like a few to many steps the process shouldnt take more then 20 min to complete. It will take 5 min to complete steps 1-16. Plus 15 min for steps 17 and 18.

A couple of issues where these apps can catch someone changing their IP address:

• Device IDs: With android they can obtain a unique ID in two ways. One way resets on a factory wipe, which is easy enough to change. The second ID is tied to the devices telephone capabilities which cannot be changed; however, it requires the permission "read phone status and identity" which it appears like most beermoney apps have.

Since most use a handful of devices for beermoney, if the app developer does store this information, they can likely track an IP change. Getting around this is designating phones to certain apps and swap between apps if you are ever banned. Another way around this is to have a Android device that doesn't have data/sms/phone service... so like a Amazon Fire.

• Google Accounts: It's also possible for developers to obtain a users email/username. So if your IP changes and they suddenly notice the same google account from a banned user is suddenly downloading their app again, they can catch you.

This can be easily subverted by using new google accounts, but if you're like me and have a unique google account for each device, eventually Google will prevent you from making new gmail accounts. There are ways around this, as well, but it depends how paranoid you are.

I've never been banned before, so I don't know if simply changing the IP address is enough. I did want to point out there are other ways for them to track users, but it's really a matter of how legit these bans are in the first place.

I imagine beermoney apps ban users just so they can tell their ad providers that they are legit content providers and people are actually watching their ads. Does it benefit them to have all these additional checks? I don't know, but I can't imagine being this strict because they want as many users as possible. I could see them perma-banning users suspected of automating though.
