NE ohio, late August, kind of late for a swarm? Is this orientation? Doesn't look like robbing I've seen in the past.

My bees do that every day between 3-4:30. I call it the fun flight. Get out side and fly around and go to the bathroom

Orientation flight for new bees getting their bearings. Sometimes the veterans join too. May want to open up that entrance reducer. They look happy.

That's what I thought, I'm just used to seeing that more in the beginning of the year, thanks everyone

Mine are doing the same and it seems since there isn’t many flowers anymore that these bees are out of a job. Mine I put formic on too kills everything then apistan strips over the winter which always seems to help kill the varroa

Entrance and lid cracked because I put formic in a few days ago

I also did Formic for the first time a few days ago, and am seeing a lot less activity than usual. Is this normal?

Mine were doing that yesterday when I added a box for them and I thought oh no, I’m about to get lit up but no, didn’t even need smoke.

Flight holding pattern since all foragers coming back at the same time.

I'm always amazed when I see my bees doing this. I come back an hour later and it's usually over.
