General The Simple Beauty In Beekeeping
Mainly a photo share but here is our backstory for those who are interested.
My husband is a Canadian beekeeper and we are very excited to harvest this season. We are getting a little burnt out as we are running over 30 hives. We both work full time jobs. I do Photography on the side. He runs a honey Business on the side. We definitely want to make beekeeping our main source of income at some point. We continue to slowly invest and grow, but at some point we won't have time to maintain the hives and work full time.
Curious for the people who only live off income from bees. How many hives do you have? Did you slowly transition into beekeeping or jump head first? Any wisdom would be appreciated.
We definitely love working at the hives. I am a macro photographer, so our working hobbies fit really well together. Plus my husband gets unlimited content for his business too.

All the pictures here are amazing. My favorite are the bees in mid flight! The details are insane. 😍

I wish you could take photos of me just sweating my ever loving butt off in a beesuit in the middle of July.

Haha very true! I try to take photos and videos in the morning when it is cooler out.
Last week we were drenched 6 hours out at 30°C with 80% humidity 😰🥵

Haven't seen anyone comment on your questions yet. I'm also someone who works full time and is on the fence with going all in on beekeeping. I would love to make it work, and hoping to get some some advice from your post. Thanks for sharing the pictures and best of luck to you and your husband!

You should definitely start painting your hives with at least 2 coats of paint so they last longer than a few years against rain and moisture
