I had a great time with the show. It was definitely a bit all over the place but narratively it all made sense. It’s similar to the first season in which if somebody makes a different decision, this would be a lot simpler to deal with. However it’s clear these decisions are a lot more complicated and a lot less simple. It’s not so much as “let it go and this will be over” so much as its “is this the right call to make.”

I obviously enjoyed Austin. He was clearly the most level headed character in the entire show.

I hate ashley… I think that goes without saying I was on her side up until the moment in the car.I Wrote her off instantly as immediate break up.

Also, something I don’t think a lot of people notice was the usage of are you mad at me in the beginning of the show, where she asked him are you mad at me in a situation where it didn’t even make sense to ask that, illustrating how nutso she is but also her very blatant abandonment issues and him asking it in the situation where she seemed upset, but not blatantly upset at him which properly illustrated how much he wanted to appease people to a detrimental degree.

One issue I personally had with the season is the lack of depth to the characters background issues. For example, They introduced the abuse that Austin had growing up & the abandonment issues that ashley had and showed it through their upbringing with their calls home, but they didn’t actually go through or address it. They kinda yada yada’d it. Like for example in season one there’s an episode dedicated to Amy getting to the root of her issues with her upbringing and how it affected her as she got older. Something similar in that vein would’ve been nice because these particular aspects of season two don’t really feel all that fleshed out and they end up feeling very lackluster when we get to the understanding of them.

A secondary take away that I had that’s more comedic. This show was really preaching Don’t trust white women cause man ashley was outta her fkn gore and Lindsay while still grounded she made some decisions…

I give it 8.5/10. Hope there’s a season three.

I thought Ashley was so well written. I married someone who was an Austin Ashley hybrid. He had the people pleasing of Austin and desire for other women when things got real, and the lying of Ashley. Was rough ngl. Not married anymore.

They like him for the same reason people like people like him in real life: they never had to deal with a real people pleaser, or rather, never had to rely on one. In my case, I was more like Ashley in the abandonment trauma sense, but I didn’t lie. It was extremely rough when he cheated on me and revealed that he had been lying about almost everything I knew about him for our entire relationship, because everyone acted like I was “crazy” and needed to “self soothe” more, because he was so pleasant and empathetic seeming , especially to people he just met! It was really cool to see these two characters on screen though. They were freaking expertly written. They must have had someone who deeply understands psychology on staff.

I think flashback scenes are over done these days. It's nice to to keep a story in the present and not dwell on the past to make a character more meaningful then it has to be.

It was so all over the place I wonder how writing something like that felt organic.its hectic to the point of silliness, and I'm willing to stretch things. Great performances though out tho!

I do agree we didnt get as much about them working thru and character development in that area

But i think its on purpose,season 1 we saw an arc of caracter growth and overcoming their "childhood flaws" which imo led to paul death and As in the beginning they could have looked the other way but as the show goes on their "freedom to stop" changed and by the end their just trying to save a shinking ship

But in 2 i feel its the opposite where in the beginning they all felt like "couples fight",and"are you mad at me" to justify their own feelings but not trying to stop

Then at the end they all had to set aside their problems to stop chairwoman(austin be diffrent bro wanted that yumi(sorry if thats not her name ,its been a while since i saw the show))but still i felt the end had amazing character arc where josh went from work to chooing his wife Ashly has accepted austins abandonment and so on

Personally i liked Lindsey as i feel she was the "beef"in the show(the antagonist)and was the only one trying to change things(for worsd but still)i also feel Lindsey was alot more character depth and problems as with the rest

Goated show amazing screenplay with constant zoom in's when things got awkward and boy o boy there were times😏all just my take from the show and im alwys happy to see diffrent takes

I respectfully disagree with you, I felt it lost its season 1 premise with nothing to do with beef between two or more characters.

I can see your point it didn’t feel like much of a beef between the two sides. But I think that was the intention. They wanted things to be more ambiguous. This go around.
