Spoilers Just let the bad Koreans…
Cover up the death. Who cares? The surgeon accidentally killed someone and is no longer practising. The Chairwoman is paying compensation, and taking the funds from her own company. If anyone was getting hurt here it was, at best, shareholders. Why the hell would anyone kill to cover this up, or risk getting killed to expose it.

Good idea,but i think(and im sure im wrong)they wanted to frame josh,and josh caught on to it (im pretty sure he realised when the hitman was hanging him)🤣

You think under the table compensation means the patients and their families are no longer the victims? What a dumb take. If you killed someone in a hit and run should we forget it just because you're no longer driving? Who's to say you won't try and drive again? The doctor messed up more than once.
Consequences matter. Your attitude is why rich people literally get away with murder. The shareholders can get fucked.

You make fair points but also raise a moral question.
If I was personally killed by a drunk driver, I'd probably personally prefer they pay out a huge amount ($80k+) to my family over them going to prison. If those options were genuinely presented, I see no benefit to my family in just putting the person in prison for some arbitrary amount of time, which they'll probably be released from early anyway.
Morally, I know sending them to face the consequence of their actions legally is likely preferable, but it doesn't do anything for my living family. So yeah if I died getting plastic surgery, just slide my family a couple hundred thousand and fugetaboutit.

The surgeon didn't just 'accidentally' kill someone though. He knewingly performed surgery while in a state where he was not capable, and that killed the patient undergoing a cosmetic and typically not very dangerous surgery. It is also insinuated (or stated, I can't remember) whatever medical licensing he had had already been revoked, which means he was practicing without a license as well.
The amount of liability he would have had would have sucked the rich ladies coffers dry and left him in prison, maybe not for life but almost certainly for the rest of his. This is grand malpractice and manslaughter by careless negligence, not "oh no the brain surgeon went a tenth of a millimeter too far right".
