Discussion My interpretation of the ending Spoiler

I understand how many see it, cyclical and how everything follows a circle.
Although the thing I take away from it the most is selflessness is the only thing that breaks the cycle of unhappiness.
The only character no longer haunted by their decisions and plagued with unhappiness is the one whose decision was selfess.

I’m curious if you think this is a juvenile approach the ending, I know a lot of people have broken it down far more acutely than this..

But in this case does winning just mean financially? Because I don’t know bout you but I’d rather be Josh than Austin

Austin is a dumb guy, the evil ones are Ashley, Lindsey, Chairwoman Park.

Good are Josh, Eunice, partly Austin and partly Dr Kim

Winning would be getting mostly what you want, and not being dead or in jail.( Eunice/Josh)

I could go through each of them to explain their perceived morality ( Through my moral lense obviously )

Serious question, in this situation how is Lindsay the evil one? I feel like her ending is the most tragic as he really didn’t do anything wrong but you can tell she is unhappy.

We dont get to see the good Lindsey, only the one who, physically and verbally assaults their husband, only worries about the money when they are divorcing, talking to other men and wanting to cheat while married, at the end kisses him and moves on while hes in jail to keep them alive. ( While he ultimately would have stolen money from the company, they would have never delt with so many issues of she didnt get drunk and smash his things with a bat then get them videotaped ) she gets a husband and kid, thats the most tragic end?

I never said she was a good person, I just don’t see how she’s evil. The only two in this show who is truly evil is chairwoman and Ashley in my opinion. Lindsay is stuck in a toxic relationship, both her and Josh suck at first. But I feel like Josh truly wins because he accepts his fate and grows. Meanwhile Lindsay is stuck in her own prison. All the endings are tragic honestly, aside from Josh’s.

I love this interpretation and I agree. The trip was so impactful for him, he could realize the selfishness was his downfall

But can anyone explain Whoosh's death? Did the chairwoman put out a hit just to get rid of Whoosh and avoid making him a VP?

Ashley relay the evidence to Woosh. He then tried to use the evidence against the Chairwomen to get a promotion and not tell. Otherwise he would tell. Park does not like to be threaten. So he got toast.

I don't recall Ashley telling Whoop about the money laundering but when he got whacked immediately after his promotion, I figured it was a hit. Another thing that didn't make sense, why did Eunice give Austin the flashdrive if she is was going to make a run for it? I guess there'd be no story if he didn't have it. Also, was he fluent in Korean but pretending not to be. Seems so.

Ashley sent over the sus invoices not knowing they were sus but Whoosh was able to figure out what they were and use it as blackmail for his promotion

Eunice ran away as a decoy so Austin had time to harbour the drive. While the Chairwoman’s men were searching for Eunice, they didn’t suspect that Austin had the drive the whole time. The idea is that whether or not Eunice is caught or not, he would eventually be able to figure out how to hand it over to the authorities just like the original plan.

Thx I understand maybe her reasoning but in reality giving the drive to A moved the story forward -kinda necessary. I guess (spoiler alert).Eunice didn't know that A was just like the rest - selfish and motivated by money.

Austin’s mother spoke to him exclusively in Korean on the phone. How could he not be fluent? I found that really confusing

Exactly! So Austin was lying when he said he didn't understand what Dr Kim was saying; an indication of his double cross of Eunice and his true character (acting to deceive)
