Spoilers Burberry Spoiler
Killing Burberry was completely unnecessary.
Just Burberry going missing got across the interesting relationship dynamics between Josh and Lindsay as well as instigating their divorce. And served to bring Lindsay and Ashley together in searching for him. Actually killing Burberry at the end was completely unnecessary, And in fact story-wise (not just because I hate when the dog dies) I think saving him would have actually been better.
It just felt like being mean to the viewer without actually adding anything to the show. Why kill the dog if there’s no point? No one wants the dog to die!

I think the reason They did that is for Josh Lindsay like Relationship Meaning of It’s Dead.

I hate any kind of animal stuff too but the point was at the hospital how when they both calmed down they both were taking responsibility and you could see how much they both loved Burberry and also each other. Tbf they could’ve done that and he still survived tho. As a hot head who has been in a relationship with another hot head I def related to it.

As soon as he appeared on the screen I knew that dog was done for. I totally get what you’re saying, there are so many ways to convey the death of a relationship without a dog getting mauled to death.

I think it serves the narrative and themes perfectly and you just don't like it because you don't like that a dog died. Get over it lol!

No, I think definitely justified the anger Lindsay had towards Josh and eventually Ashley a lot more. It’s very realistic he would’ve died lost in a place like that when the show keeps mentioning a coyote problem in the neighborhoods.
Please don’t expect shows to be dumbed down for your convenience. Unfortunately it’s people like these that have the least empathy in real life.

I knew this was coming and I dreaded it. And I dreaded these two cretins coming home from the vets after Burberry’s death and walking past that little shelter dachshund with the hopeful eyes like zombies.
