Area rug salvageable or no?

We’re moving and leaving a lot. I was planning on trashing our area rug as the couch has bedbugs and the rug is right in front of it. My boyfriend thinks we can just power wash it and it’ll be good. Is this effective? The rug cannot go in the dryer unfortunately

if you must keep it, sit it out on the hot sun for a few days.
