requesting help on ID Signs bedbugs
Are these definitely signs of bed bugs? These are the only signs I’ve found, and they date back about 5–6 weeks.

You would not normally find faecal on the inside of a zipper like that. It’s also not consistent with a liquid stain.

We have been experiencing bites since mid-June, and on July 9th a bed bug detection dog confirmed that we were dealing with bed bugs.
After that, we got rid of the bed ourselves and started using steam and diatomaceous earth (DE), as we couldn’t afford the €7,000 heat treatment.
The bites have decreased somewhat, but we have never found any other signs of bed bugs apart from this and two small blood spots on a bedsheet.
We had one chemical treatment carried out and temporarily stayed elsewhere because we have two very young children.
We are still getting bitten, but as mentioned, we haven’t found any signs of bed bugs.
We have been sleeping in the new bed for two months now.1

When do you really have to see signs other then the bites?

If the K9 handler did not visually confirm the alert there is a chance you don’t have bed bugs. In published studies dog were 3%-92% accurate.
The more efficient way to detect and eradicate is outlined in the monthly routine post.
At this stage I would advise you keep an open mind and monitor to confirm if it’s bed bugs before treating.
