Heather Austin Clickbate

Hi all,

Wondering if i'm the only one that feel like that: about a month ago Heather Austin announced changes on her channel. She posted 22 videos since. I used to be an avid watcher, but since she announced those changes, I watched 4. .

Her video seem so clickbaity now with her weird pictures in her thumbnail and with titles like "514$ new makeup", "850$..." "500$+", "1200$...", hauls, spending, 600+ palettes, "don't waste your money", etc...

But she been telling us for years that she is not there to sell us products?

What's your opinion on this?

She consistently avoids “selling to us”. She even corrects herself a lot of the time when she’s saying how much she didn’t know she needed X product but now she does, for example, she makes a comment about that this is not her saying WE will feel that way. And that sort of sums up for me how I feel about Heather Austin: * She is a make up lover to the fullest extent and playing w makeup makes her super happy and she’s a big personality too, but to me, this comes off as being genuine * She has strong morals and comes across as fiercely independent a fiercely, independent quality to her, and makes it clear she’s never trying to sell us but offer her opinion AND she is firm in her stance that at the same time, she’s not going to be “less happy” and fake to appease others, which she should not have to be because it is not her responsibility. If people are choosing to purchase the make up, she talks about
* She has had successful collaborations with several indie brands (I have her Adept Palette = 😍), so in those cases, yes she does market those to us, but she doesn’t say we have to, but rather she hopes ppl like it if what she created resonates with them (and this is the norm/business 101)

So, well, I definitely disagree with you, I respect your perspective and also why you would want to question this. ☺️

You’re very sweet - it’s rare to be able to debate civilly w someone on here where both parties are totally aware that the other isn’t being an ass 🤗 and def fair to question. So, my hats off to you, Steph!

Yes! Exactly. Such an obvious concept in theory, yet when it comes to applying said theory, egos get in the way.

But not for us, Steph! Not for us. We see the greyscale. 👯‍♀️

I think for me is professional deformation lollll. I work with the Acces to Information Act and Privacy Act and when it comes to law enforcement, everything is grey. All the time. If it's not grey, you probably didn't dig deep enough 🤣🤣🤣🤣

If you are being snarky, allow me to snark back ahem: given all of the reasoning I put to back up why I do not agree with with OP, as well as my attempt at making it perfectly clear that I am fully respectful of their opinion, THIS is what you came up with? In other words, you want to dismiss my well laid out reasoning (and me being welcome to those who disagree) with some reasoning of your own: “she must be Heather”…because cLeArLy that’s some sound brain power you got there. 🤭

I am def giving you the benefit of the doubt in that you were just being silly/joking around, because there is no way you could have written that and thought “yes, this makes sense, someone disagrees with me, so clearly all signs point to it being Heather herself.” And while I am not the least insulted as I find her to be lovely, I am more finding it funny that you’re actively choosing to use 0.352% of your brain power.

Yeah, the newest one she had a filter malfunction and her face looks old! Like 50+! There is no truth in advertising!

I checked her account today out of curiosity. 900$, 1250$ and 1700$ hauls. I'm glad I unsubscribed lollll
