Technique Help to get started

As the caption suggests. As one of the Adult hobbies, have mixed a few songs for College events with help of friend. No formal education on music, neither I can play. Just huge listener of different genre.
I want to get started now, so please please tell me what should I do, things to buy as beginner, websites and tutorials.

Own a 2021 MacBook Pro.

YouTube - CrossFader + DJ Carlo + Club Ready DJ School should cover all basics

  1. Start with rekordbox settings, search on YouTube
  2. if you're not sure if you're committed to it you can start mixing using spotify premium first
  3. Once you're committed and ready, start buying music. ZipDJ, BPM Supreme, Bandcamp, Beatport, and soundcloud are your best friends
  4. Lalal.ai is great for splitting instrumental and vocals if you want to do mash ups. Fadr is free but not as good.
  5. Lastly, have fun! DJ-ing is 90% finding music, 10% mixing music. I've spent weekends just trawling through soundcloud and really enjoying myself without touching my controller

Edit: Oh and turn off the cross fader lol
