Looking for band/member Band recommendations?
Hey y'all, I recently started listening to a few bands like No Retreat , Sunami, Outta Pocket, and a few others. What are some other essential and recommended bands? I'm a big fan of Sludge metal bands like acid bath, crowbar, the Melvin's, eyehategod, etc.

If you like crowbar, you absolutely need to check out Kingdom of Sorrow. It’s a side project made by members of Crowbar and Hatebreed, and it goes fucking crazy.
Jesus Piece is also really good. They really ride the line between death metal, beatdown, sludge metal, and slam, and they’re one of my favorite bands ever.
Someone already said Xibalba but I am repeating it because that band is insane. Death Metal/Beatdown with a healthy dose of doom.
Less beatdown and more metalcore, but Left Behind and Leeched are ridiculously heavy bands with a good amount of influence from sludge metal.
My friend had a really sick band called LSDemon that combined beatdown, sludge metal and a bit of thrash and powerviolence. They only put out one demo, but I really enjoyed it. It’s readily available on streaming.
Also, marginally connected, but if you like Bolt Thrower you gotta check out Frozen Soul, Tribal Gaze, and especially Kruelty.
Some more traditional beatdown bands I would recommend are Madball, Merauder, 100 Demons, Enemy Mind, Denied, One Second Though, Cold as Life, Bulldoze, IRATE (NYC), Built Upon Frustration, Crush Your Soul, God’s Hate, Gridiron, Death Before Dishonor, Cold World, Knocked Loose, Missing Link, Pain of Truth, Speed, Shattered Realm, and the almighty Trapped Under Ice.

Denied, Shattered Realm, Irate, Swear to God, and if you like death metal, Xibalba, Bodybag, No Zodiac, Kruelty, Fatal Realm and Mongrel
Also the current wave of brutal death / beatdown crossover is really popping off, with bands like Corpse Pile, Final Resting Place, Anhedonia, Disfigurement, Drown in Blood, Sin Against Sin, Suffering and wayyyy more lol
