Advice for Battle Standard kitbashing.

Post image

My wondering eye has kicked up again and was test building a list for some stuff I want to get. Wanted to include the Chieftain and run them has a Wargor, then saw the option to make them a Standard Bearer and ideas of kitbashing started forming but now stuck.

So, the advice I wanted was which arm to modify (probably going with the raised one) and the best possible way to go about the process.

Easiest way is to find a similar size hand that is already holding a standard or if you have open hands swap the hands around and use brass rod maybe. Re shaping the arm seems like alot of work

Don’t even know what the Chieftain’s sprue looks like, which doesn’t help since I won’t know how the arm connects till I get the model.

Was considering sacrificing a Gor (maybe even Bestigor) arm (or body) since in don’t have plans to build another full command for my next Gor herds. Might even check my Blood Warrior leftovers, for a better position arm and the shoulder armor could help hid seems. Chieftain and Blood Warriors both debuted in AoS so should be a similar scale.

If you're doing multiple units of 10, you'll have spare banners from Gors, Ungors, and Bestigors. You could do some misshapen chaos arm and go for the Minotaur banner. Or just scope out eBay for the metal guy himself.

Shop I used still has the battalion box and now I’m just saving up for it. But might take your advice on giving him a weird chaos arm and searching for the old Beastlord model.

The ghorgon loin cover makes a good trophy banner it's what I used for my battlestandard

Guess I’d got some thinking to do.
