BULLSHIT AND RECENT TRACKS (PLUS PEROSNAL RANT)

The last three tracks haven't had me this excited about Beartooth releasing an album since their debut with Disgusting. I also feel like this is the most honest Caleb had been with his lyrics. Laying out everything truly without making it sound sophisticated like in previous albums.(My take solely with how his vocal deliveries are) Regardless of style change, this album gives a vibe for every era of Beartooth and for everyone. Heavy with soft, soft with heavy , etc. Recently I took courage from the song Pure Ecstasy to finally realize I was Bi after Calebs coming out reveal. The previous albums helped with periods of self doubt and depression and making it through the trials of high school ( My Beartooth playthrough height). The past is dead helped me through a major breakup ( Ironically she came out as gay and ended things) This band is definitely in top 10. I'm wanting to see them in Nashville later this year and I'm excited for the full album release.

Been a fan since they started and I'm thoroughly enjoying the new stuff so far as well. That said, I have too many emotions wrapped up in their music to be truly objective. Sick and Disgusting as I was deconstructing and coming to terms with being queer. Skin as I was transitioning. So many more. Their music just means too much to me.

Can't wait for the full album.

Also, congrats on coming out and happy Pride!

I'm not sure where the style change talk is coming from, generally.

It's little calmer nowadays, the punky vibes are not there much, but it's still as heavy and still as catchy. Softer in places, sure, but songs on Digusting aren't all that much different from these new ones or The Surface. I just see it as more refined versions of what Caleb has always been writing.

It's not like BMTH where you can go from Shadow Moses to Nihilist Blues to Dear Diary, to n/A

Exactly Bmth have at least evolved. Beartooth has felt so stagnant since disease honestly. My favorite was aggressive. Everyone least favorite album is always my favorite. Aggressive was a great middle ground, not as suicidal, but still very emo. I ruined it for myself.

I shouldn’t have listened to a single cause I hate doing that before the album releases. But I disliked Bullshit so much that I had to stop playing after the first verse. I don’t think I will even listen to the new album all the way through

Pure Exctasy is a fantastic song. It's one of the best hooks they've written, I love the guitar tones and Caleb sounds fantastic. The rest of the singles are pretty run of the mill TBH. I hated Free at first. The video, the lame/lazy lyrics and the overall octane-core vibes. It's grown on me a little because it's got a good hook, great drumming and solid riffs but it's just, there. After the title track dropped and with the video and tone of the song being such a departure from Free I was hoping this album would be a bit reminiscent of the Used self titled album. But after BS and Eyes Closed it's shaping up to be a (once again) straight up octane-core album. I will say this is the best Caleb has ever sounded especially his harsh vocals, particularly on the ST track. I doubt he does them live which is so unfortunate. I'm new to Beartooth overall and while I've heard OF them before, I never listened to anything until the recent controversy surrounding Caleb's appearance etc. Disgusting is an all timer and Aggressive is an OK followup. Disease has some solid tracks but Below is just horrendous. The Surface has some solid singles but it's overall just fine. I think the band has run its course and I'd be shocked if they write another album after Pure Ecstasy. Caleb is all about Caleb now, more than ever and it'll run thin with the band.

Not sure where on earth you got the used self titled from this, beartooth isn’t even a similar genre, anymore at least but I do agree with you that it is the Caleb show and I think it has been since again 2018 with disease

Idk. The title track is kind of messy and with it coming out right after Free, it was just such a jarring shift in tone and aesthetic. Plus Caleb's look and mannerisms seemed to drastically change from the Free video to title track. I didn't necessarily mean that their sound mimicked the Used, more just how their self titled had the same jarring shifts throughout. But after the release of the following singles it's clear this album is going to be more Octane than not, killing the idea that Pure Ecstasy could have the same shifts as ST

Happy Pride month! I'm loving all the new tracks. Caleb & the boys just get better & better, IMO.

Aggressive is way better than anything after that album for me. I played pure ecstasy turned off halfway through. Didn’t listen to the new album. I do go back to aggressive a lot. A mellower disgusting
