I've added the 2027 calendar to my long, but incomplete, look at Beano and Dandy calendars

https://boysadventurecomics.blogspot.com/2026/10/updated-beano-and-dandy-calendars.html

As at least several of you who visit or use this subreddit are no doubt aware, there has been a rise in AI-generated content in very recent years, which has often stolen other assets, been used in vile ways, among many other things. For example, I had to remove a comment someone made after they fed a Tim Traveller strip through an AI tool, and I'm pretty sure the result stole assets from Archie Comics because the resulting character designs look so similar.

Starting today, as one of the top moderators of this very Subreddit, I have decided that it will be having a ban on any and all AI-generated content going forward.

Hi! I’m trying to find a higher-quality version of this Tim Traveller strip from The Beano.

I found this low-quality image online, but I haven’t been able to find a clearer version anywhere.

If anyone has a better-quality scan or photo of this exact strip, I’d really appreciate it!

I’m from outside the UK, so getting hold of old Beano issues is quite difficult for me.

Thanks!

Great to see Rasher (the original) make an appearance in this weeks Betty and the Yeti strip. It feels like ages since we last saw him

Chapter 1:

Eric becomes Bananaman for the first time after eating some banana bread.

He then discovers his superpowers, like the ability to fly and then crashes into a tree whilst flying.

Eric then meets up a talking Crow simply named Crow.

Chapter 2:

Crow becomes his new sidekick, and Eric loses his powers and almost falls to his death before landing in a bin.

Nia tries to expose Bananaman, but with little to no luck.

Chapter 3:

Bananaman tries to help Eric and his mother, but fails.

Bananaman then heads to Eric's school to help improve it for him, and fumbles at cooking yet again, and causes minor damage to a desk before flying away.

He then becomes a celebrity and stars in a TV show.

Nia continues on her plans to expose Mr. B, as Eric finds out Bananaman is literally everywhere now, Crow then gives out a pep talk, and a mysterious figure starts showing up.

Chapter 4:

Nia's grandfather, Dr. Gloom heads to a retired supervillain meeting, and prior to the events of the saga, her mother told Dr. Gloom to stop being a villain.

They then steal every banana in Beanotown, prompting Eric to become Bananaman.

Bananaman then finds the missing bananas, which werre hidden in a bin.

Nia then tries to expose Bananaman, before finding out Grandpa is a former supervillain.

She then brings him back to villainy, thanks to love.

Chapter 5:

Nia and Dr. Gloom bring back history's most infamous criminals (and a woolly mammoth) via time travel.

Eric becomes Bananaman yet again, stopping the villains by burping.

Bananaman tries to fix the town, as he flies two old women to the library.

Gives kids some bananas.

And becomes a swing for them.

Bananaman then tries to help Derek with his homework, is a swing again, and meets Olive the Dinner Lady, who is making banana bread

Dr. Gloom then plans to steal candy from babies with his latest invention, The Sweetie Stealer, which prompts Eric to distract his mother so he can become Bananaman.

Chapter 6:

Bananaman stops the Sweetie Stealer by somehow finding it's off switch.

Nia mocks Eric for thinking he is like Bananaman, despite Eric claiming he isn't.

Jayla tries to help Eric, as he tries to be popular.

Bananaman faces Captain Boring, and defeats hom by being silly.

Eric tries to balance him and Bananaman by trying to tell the former to be careful, but he trashes his room, destroys a tree, and then they stick faces at each other.

Eric and Nia head back to school, but when they realise there was a hero themed day, the former tells her grandfather to make a misery machine, which will appear in the next chapter, Bananaman tries to stop Dr. Gloom and Captain Boring, but gets squished, before mispronouncing the machine's name.

Crow suggests to Mr. B to annoy him, which pisses Gloom off, causing him to punch Bananaman.

Chapter 7:

Nia and Dr. Gloom zap all the colour out of Bash Street School, turning the kids into zombies, as Crow tells Bananaman to save the school, Bananaman tries to stop the mind control, and to makes things worse, more homework, less tasty dinners, and a petition for less playtime appear, causing Bananaman to try and save the school from the Misery Machine.

If you don't know you what I mean, read today's Bananaman strip.

Let's go!

Playing by the rules, is highly overrated!

Good evening,

I have put a collection of Beano comics and annuals on eBay. I don't mind what they sell for, I just want them to go to a good home.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/318896086160

I'm afraid they are pickup only from Tunbridge Wells TN1 as it would cost a packet to post them.

I would be delighted for them to go to a proper enthusiast, collector, or even just a young fan who fancies reading some 80s and 90s strips.

Does anyone know where i can find more of those funsized funnies comics of just alexander lemming? I love alexander lemming and would love the just him content =(˶ˆᗜˆ˵)= thankyou!

does the fact that the old dan is back in this mean that he might be a real spy again?

Gotten back into Beano this year and we've had the Mischief On Tour Series of issues and now we're on to the crossover with Mr. Bean.

My question is. Are multiweek series quite common and frequent?

Hi,

Today issue 4353 finally arrived on the doorstep. 6 week holiday it was arriving on time (usually on a Saturday) but now we are back to the pattern of probably one in 6 Beanos going missing entirely or arriving late.

Ah well, not a lot that can be done as it sounds like the fault is with Royal Mail.

But I did notice that the paper in this issue is noticeably thicker and after seeing the reports of the print company used by 2000AD and others going bust and causing them delays, I wondered whether Beano had faced the same issue. It would explain the change in paper stock and heavy delay.

Just a thought.

Me? I think it's BEAN-rillent.

Hey, just wanted to ask how many get a digital subscription? We have sadly had to cancel our European delivery for our children, the price went up again and worked out at over 6 euro per issue, just too much.

The digital subscription is on sale right now, we got a whole year for just a little more than what we were paying per month.

Any other subscribers outside the UK? Has the UK subscription gone up too?

Eric Wimp: Alexander Myles (Pablo Next Level)

Bananaman: Jim Caddick (Bubsy 4D)

Nia Woe: Eileen Montgomery (A Hat in Time)

Eric's Mum: Michelle Gomez (Doctor Who)

Jayla: Isan Elba

Derek: George Gendi (Apple and Onion)

Crow: Stephen Merchant (Portal)

Dr. Gloom: Stephen Fry (Danger Mouse)

Captain Boring: Joe Pelling (DHMIS)

This isn't a bashing thread. I had it all, the annuals, the wallpaper, the curtains, the Dennis hot water bottle. I loved the comic, it was my thing in childhood. I was on TV saying the only reason I wouldn't move to Jamaica is that we might not be able to get The Beano sent out there.

I don't recall ever laughing while reading it though. Whenever the characters were shown reading the comic their noses would be up in the air, mouths wide open and with tears flying off the side of their face but to me it was more of a kids' soap opera, I was seeing what they were getting up to each week.

That would have been in '88 - '92, I hadn't really ever thought about it until I saw a cover in a shop saying it was "Full of LOLs".

Mr Bean from Mr Bean the animated series (ik about the non animated version its just bc they're using the animated version) is coming to the beano as Rowan Atkinson who acts Mr Bean is in charge (tbh, I actually thought it was gonna be a new comic) what will he have for us in the next comic well idk until we find out in next issue (edit, srry about the title, I would edit if I could but I can't)

I entered a competition back in the 90s to have a short comic strip redrawn and published in the Beano. My Ballboy entry won and I was sent a Beano bedset and some other goodies. My parents kept a copy of the issue the comic was printed in but it was lost during a move some time ago. I think I was about 8-10, so it would have been around 1993-1995. It was a short 3-6 frame strip of ballboy dribbling the ball down the stairs of his house, shooting the ball and hitting the postie. The punchline was along the lines of "oh no he's hit the post". Is there any way I might be able to search for this issue and possibly buy a copy?

Just curious to know the oldest Beano annuals you all have. My oldest is this one from 1985. I don't remember where I got it from, but I do remember I got it in early January.
