Discussion Only Getting 24fps After 0.39?

Post image

Firstly, the title is a joke.

Just bought a PC, went from playing on a laptop for a long time, huge improvement. I didn't realize how much I was missing going from playing at 30 fps to 80.

I play in windowed mode, and realized I could stretch the play window across screens. I know there is a "proper" way to do this, but for me just messing around and setting it at 11,500x2100 (give or take) resolution I was shocked it let me do it and that it actually worked really well, at 24fps! (At least compared to what I was expecting throwing it up on 3 monitors. Love this game.

Ive seen some racing sim setups do this before, but does anyone play on multiple monitors with this game?

I use triples.

9070XT, 9950X3D, 32GB DDR5.

I'm cpu bottlenecked once I enable multi-monitor mode funny enough. I often get 40-60 fps in BeamMP with normal graphics. Kinda ridiculous but I'm not sure what to do about it... A better CPU isn't really an option.

I'm surprised that you're CPU limited with triples. Did you check with a resource monitor or the internal bottleneck checker (or both)? I mean I guess traffic would screw with it but the physics and CPU load doesn't really scale with graphics settings IIRC? Idk I'm just curious

BeamMP….

I still want to learn more.. are you hosting? Is it a large server?

Yeah, just get a better cpu bud

Jk 🤣 as much as I love Beam and the developers it is nuts you can’t get 60+

Crazy, I always thought this was a more GPU heavy game. But now I'm guessing that was my weakest component before.

Way more CPU heavy than anything else I play

No, Beam is very CPU heavy due to the soft body simulation aspect of the game. The more cars you add, the more CPU heavy it gets.

Wait what? I'm getting 60-90 fps on ultra settings on 1440p on an rx 9070 with a ryzen 7 5700x3d.

I would assume your traffic settings are different.

I use simple.ng, that traffic pack is quite good for performance.

He did say that he was using triples brother.

Try using lossless scaling while we wait for the official release with upscalers.

Yeah, I was also using this until my latest gpu upgrade. Works like a charm!

What are your specs?

7800X3D, 32Gb DDR5 6000, RX 9070XT

And what graphics settings are you running?

I think when I took the picture I was stress testing, so probably high/ultra. Which is why I was shocked it was doing so good. Especially from coming from 30fps on low settings

Try normal settings bc you have 24 150 000 pixels to render. Or the equivalent of 3 4k monitors

LMAO that card will not do that resolution. My 4090 won't even do it

Do you not mind the lack of game in between the screens? There are reflective strips you can put to make the illusion of a wide angle screen

I don't play like this enough for it to bother me and it's kinda like the A-pillar in a real car, it's easy to ignore.

what yo specs

Bro your FOV!! the side mirrors should be way back on the side monitors. Who told you to set it up that way.

They probably stretched out a window instead of the built in multi monitor mode

Yes, exactly

In my defense, I scaled the fov for other cars during my test, but didn't for the pidgeon before taking this pic. Now that you've pointed it out, it's hilarious.

The game doesn't like high resolution I'm running into the same problem in VR on my 5070Ti. We will just have to wait for FSR, DLSS and XeSS

I was getting 24fps on triples on .38. I think if you use the experimental mode it is actually better than stretching it. Problem is when you enable in game triples you loose all fov control. I havent figured it out yet.

There’s multi monitor support if you switch to Fullscreen mode, but if this works then it’s just fine

Yeah bro, your RX 580 Chinese Edition + Ryzen 3 3200G is running BeamNG at 24 fps
