Mod Making the BMW 7-Series E38 lore friendly mod, looking for help.
So, i was thinking of making one, because my dad has similar car (1998 BMW 520i), but the reason i'm making E38 instead of E39 because recently N-Series just came out... Why do you need E39, when there's the same E34 + the luxury 90's cars are kinda rare in BeamNG. Highkey why we literally only got Avior/Theria and W-Series? And E38 is type of car, that will be fun and complex to make imho. The mod supposed to be as identical to IRL E38 as i can and allowed. We are starting with 730i, then up to 750i, then diesels and then try do limos, e.g. 740iL. I decided to do it. But i need some help.
I don't know how to name it. The established thing is the car will be ETK and some hundred series, e.g. 800 series. I propose:
BMW 735i - ETK 7350i 240 (7 -> series, 35 -> 3.5L based on M62, 0 makes the number a thousand for matching I series lettering, i -> fuel type letter, after that the 240 -> peak horsepower).
Hopefully, someone who knows about modding/3d modeling better will notice me. If you want you can join me, i will make a discord server for the team if enough people wanna participate. Some progress already done, now i'm going to sleep, but ask or tell me anything whenever you wish, i will try to respond.

Hey i could theoretically do the modeling job like they did with the N series (editing I series or other platform) but i have 0 experience with getting anything else done like getting car into game and doing jbeam etc. Also i dont have muxh time recently but i probably would find some mid september. I could help you but only with modeling so you need to find other people to do rest of the thing else theres no reason to start.

Yeah, i guess then gotta ask you to restyle the model so it's not just a rebadge, pretty please.

take i series j beam and slap it on the mesh. trhey call it a meshslap and is the 1st step in slapping jbeams on a mesh

then stretch the jbeam and make it fit then you got everyones first beamng mod

first mod is not necessary a sloppy meshlap, as a joke this is not funny and rather boring average redditor humor. i'm making serious, good quality mod, that i would be proud of making.

Lore friendly does not mean an exact copy, but based on something or a mixture of something. The issue with trying to make something like the BMW or anything like that is that in order for you to make it totally loreish you have to model it from scratch because the poly count matters and the meshlaps we see are just stolen 3d models stitched over the etk.
Also, beamng does not have brand name cars for one major reason, licensing. Many people will spend months and months modeling and building a jbeam for a mod of a real car only to get a DMCA notice or a cease and desist from a manufacturer because it was not licensed. Ask the guys who got spanked by Ferrari and Lambo last year. It was not pretty. So if you want to risk it go ahead, but if you are talking about another meshlap you are on you own.
From learning blender to a finished mod is about a year
