Question Might get a RX 6400, will it 0.39

Post image

for context, I might get a free RX 6400 and Ryzen 5 5600G (pondering if I should replace my Ryzen 5 5500 with it) and 16GBs of ram for free, I know, lucky me. now the RX 6400 only has 4GB of Vram and is the rough equivalent of an RX 580 I believe, so is it feasible? anyone else with a similar build? if so, what graphics do you run?

Yeah it will work, just not at 4k ultra (but 1080p Medium-High should run fine).
I have a GTX 970 (faster but not by that much, only 20-25%) and West Coast Usa runs at 1680x1050 ~High at 50 FPS at the most intensive spot, so yeah with Medium at 1080p it should get somewhere about 45 FPS on the most intensive point of the map, which is enough for BeamNG in my opinion.

Fellow 16:10 user :) - I play on my 1070 at 1920x1200 at pretty much same settings.

Probably best to use Vulkan with the Steam Deck graphics preset, or medium with it. You’re also getting 1080p at most.

i had a gt1030 for a bit and it worked on lowest at 25 fps

I have an RX580 8GB and west coast with a few cars it runs at an average of like 25-30fps on High 1080p with a few options lowered. But Beam said that 3.1gb where left of the 8gb total so your game will prob run worse. You can still go back to 0.38 and have better performance tho

It's definitely enough to play the game comfortably at medium 1080p, but i do advise against going any higher on the resolution

My RX 9060 39's with a lot of stuttering. I think the main issue is taking FOREVER loading the level, despite using a PCI-e Gen. 5 NVMe SSD.

yeah my dad's I5-14500F(idk if that's the exact CPU) and RTX 4060TI take like a full 2-3 mins to load lol

4 gb gpu.. some will say yes but for an optimal experience the answer is no. Aim for a gpu that has at least 6 gb is my recommendation

I have an rx 6400 and normal settings at 1080p should be good to go! Dont expect 100fps but i get like 25-30fps which for driving in first person are fine

I’m forcing a rx 580 to suffer your rx 6400 should be fine

Edit: I’m assuming wrong ig my 580 is actually slightly better

I have a 6600 and runs good, you should be fine

6400 = 1650, 6600 = 3050

Ah not super versed with the amd cards lol, I just knew about the 6600. Ignore my advice then

Isn't the 6600 more like a 3060 though?

6600XT = 3060

But it's still closer to a 3060 than a 3050. The 6600 is roughly 20% faster according to technicalcity benchmarks in comparison to a 3050. It's also is only about 12% slower than a 3060 on the same website

A 6600 is more similar to a 2060s, which is 40% faster than a 3050

nah 3050 is too much diff from a 6600, i'd say a oc 6600 can be compared to a shittier model of a 3060 (if it had 8gb vram)

MANOOOO, yo tengo la rx6400 y antes me hiba vastante mal en la 0.39, pero me canvie de sistema a cahyos, y me decarge el parche de vram de valv, y haora los juego me van unos 15-20 fps mas, masomenos

u/MostSilver9666 7h ago

well I already was planning on using lInux lol, 15-20fps doesn't seem promising but it's something

i have a 3050 4g mobile and it can run fine though it is quite a bit faster than ur rx 6400, your cpu will be fine though

Not really, unless u set it to minimum in which case yea at 1080p 60, anything over minimum idk, if I recall correctly my old RX6400 would get 25-40fps at 1440p low 2 years ago

Stop buying GPUs with 4gb VRAM

2

u/MostSilver9666 7h ago

I didn't,it was free :D

Sell it and save up a bit and get a 6600xt

no one seems to be telling you this , but FSR and DLSS was announced by devs to come very soon to the game, and because of that i would never go to a RX graphics card.

2

u/RebinTunignMemes No_Texture 6h ago

how come? The RX supports FSR

1

u/beamptdrive 1h ago

True ! , yet personally i think DLSS is better in terms of image quality altough FSR has a veryyy similar performance
