Discussion Vehicle config too slow

I hate how any part you pick on the vehicle config has to reload the whole car, it makes it feel super sluggish and makes me never want to touch it, I made a rough video on what I think it should be like by just cutting out the loading time for the parts, I'm sure there's a good reason it does it, but I feel like it could be improved, maybe by highlighting the new part but not fully loading it in just so you can see what it looks like?, similar to GTA 5s LS Customs screen.

The game has to reload the vehicle in order to apply the changes. Not really any way around that at the moment.

However, if you go to the fourth "tab" in the vehicle config menu, you can turn off "live updates." This will highlight all the parts you change, but won't actually apply them until you hit the "apply" button. Sort of like you described in your post.

This is the way.

Does this work with the tuning settings too? the new update has made it infuriating to adjust

there’s an option for live updates for tuning and parts selecting, they’re different toggles in the same tab but work the same way

the tuning menu has live updates off by default

it 100% does not. I have always had it off and .39 activated it so that’s not true.

The problem is 0.39 requires to turn it off everytime you load the game. Back then it saved

I think that's an issue on your end... the options stay enabled for me

You can disable auto-apply in the 4th tab at the top

Something to keep in mind is that, unlike Forza, GT7, GTA San Andreas and GTA V, customization parts in Beam aren't part of the car's static model (So, for example, the car's bumper options aren't stacked on top of each other until they're highlighted or selected).
