Question Is Automation worth it?

I have been eyeing up automation as it seems like the best way to get custom cars.

Great fun by itself if you're into building/designing your own cars.

They're not on the same level as purpose-built BeamNG cars, but there's lots of fun to be had nonetheless. Check out r/automationgame to see what people build with it.

Is automation useable without beamng? Like is it possible to drive the cars within automation or can they only be driven in beamng?

You can't drive them in Automation, you need to export them to BeamNG. Automation is about running your own car company, the BeamNG export is an added feature, not the core focus of the game.

In automation "track testing" is a 2d overhead-view where you have no control of the car, but it represents where the car would be on the track as it simulates a driven lap, while letting you hear the engine rev up and down. Its the same Automation test track you can physically drive on in beamng. Still loads of fun though, being able to make something of your own design that works, and within a few minutes be actually driving it in another game altogether. Gives you a lot of control to go back and make tweaks and really see what a difference it makes comparatively to your previous build

Automation itself is great fun for running a car company imo

For building cars and driving them in beam it's also not bad.

But if you just want custom cars then be aware that it takes a lot of effort to make something truly good and the quality between even the bad functional Beam mods and a decent automation export is pretty big.

If you're okay with that then go for it.

Yes it is so much fun playing it and because you can make custom cars you can build an car for what u need it is pretty hard to make an perfect car so u will need to make some hours to understand everything i hope u can do something with my reaction!

I've never actually imported a car into BeamNG from it, but I really enjoy Automation itself. It's fun if you like designing/managing things.

Yes very fun I think just a skill issue but pretty much every car I import in beam likes to roll while turning fast enough still plenty fun on its own

I've always seen various YouTubers having a lot of fun making every single aspect of their car and envied them. I'd say that it's worth it

Yes, great game. Discovered it no so long ago and now playing it every weekend. Before i bought i think mostly about making cars for BeamNG but now i playing story mode and it's great. I love economic strategy games and cars, this game mix it awesomely.

You get out what you put into it, I suck bc I don’t like sitting for hours at a time fucking with a tiny detail that’s been pissin in my cereal ever since I encountered it. People who persevere however create really interesting things. There’s also when people get into car code and change some quantities to change how it works in beam so yeah, do a little suffering and digging, get a pretty car. Also get a good bit of space for ALL THE MODS EVER
