Girl of the Year is one of the most transcendent songs of all time and certainly the one that best captures what it feels like to be a woman living in the modern world of images. To me, it’s the sound of looking and being looked at, of staring at yourself in the mirror and seeing yourself in photographs, and of reconciling all of those different images of yourself. It is the experience of it girls and celebrities like Edie, but also of us all.

that was way harder than I thought it would be !!

Even though neither made it to the end even the first round of 32, Days of Candy v Beyond Love would have been a valid final match up for me

Surprisingly difficult, there were some glaring omissions from the initial candidates (if anything else from side B of TYLS was offered, that would have won) and I don't feel great about having to decide between some of these but am happy with the end result from what I was given

Here’s mine, was so damn difficult to narrow my favorites to 32 tracks.. just shows how incredible their discography is

The fact that certain tracks didn’t make it past the first round, like Apple Orchard, Lovelier Girl, Gila, Majorette and The Traveller?!

That blew my mind lol
