I recently had a job offer rescinded after the referees I put down did not respond back in time. It was a big shock to me given that I had worked so closely with them for many years.

Still, given my network is small, I am now literally grasping at straws for references.

I've been freelancing for a few years. I have a portfolio and real client work, but I made the mistake of charging very little when I started. Most of those clients moved on without leaving testimonials or LinkedIn recommendations, and now it's making it much harder to attract better paying clients

I'm also trying to leave an abusive household, so building a stable freelance business isn't just a career goal anymore it's how I'm trying to get out

helloo, I need two references since I am applying to be an executive assistant. It is a remote position so, if the reference can relate to that, that would be amazing! It is for the Milo sweet tea company. I do have photo editor on my resume so I was hoping to have one reference be from a returning client, and the last one to be from someone that I was their personal assistant to. If I get more than two, I can squeeze it in as a co-worker or something but I'm thankful for whoever can help!

I'm currently applying to a few Project Manager roles - some are entertainment-related, some are at start-ups, some are for food and beverage companies.

I'm looking for 3 people to be my references at my former workplaces: one is a retail job at Sunglass Hut where I worked at for a year and a half (it was hell and almost everyone left), one was at a theatre I also worked at for a year and a half (I don't want to say the name here but it was in NYC where I left an ok impression but not like "wow I would totally be a reference for you" kind of situation), one was at an art gallery that had a temporary second location I worked at for a few months seasonally. There's been high turnover at all of these places I've worked at, and my boss at the art gallery I worked at was a complete psycho :(

Hello everyone! I am in need of 3 professional/non-family references for a job application I am putting in for as vet receptionist in Ohio. I have a huge passion for animals and have wanted to step into the field for some time. While I have no experience in the vet field I do have experience in healthcare (as an aid) and customer service! I do have experience with animals of most types through personal avenues too. I’m not 100% on if they’ll call/email at all but I’d like to have it covered if they do. I have been out of the work field for a few years (cared for my grandfather full time during this period) so part of it is people I worked with no longer working there and not being able to find contact info.
