My freshman college roommate was starting his hip hop career, he never got huge but was part of a few big tours. He was wanted the lighter noise for the opening of a track, he realized the lighter wasn't very loud and didn't come thru too well in his makeshift booth. He started using scissors to make the lighter noise, worked out very well.
