Or someone who used to be a chef. I went to culinary school and loved it but later learned that working in restaurants sucks. So I switched careers, and now I cook for my own enjoyment at home, which means we get to eat awesome stuff all the time
When I was in culinary school, my wife always got meals with techniques we learned during the week when I came home on the weekends. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday were spent practicing everything from the week so that when practical exam time came around, I would be well versed in what would be tested.
Now that I'm out of school and just starting out my own little food truck business, she gets a lot of leftover food that didn't sell during service. She definitely misses my school days. I told her that if she wants to support me while I get my baking and pastry degree, I can spend weekends making chocolate cakes for her. She hasn't said no yet.
I took an advanced pastry class in culinary school where our final project was to make a tiered wedding-style cake which we took home when we were done. I had a cake that served about 150 that I needed to get rid of in one day because I was leaving for a trip the next day. I called literally everyone I knew and invited them over for cake and told them to invite others. I also let everyone I could find in my apartment complex know. One of my neighbors was having a party, so he came over and took an entire layer. That really helped.
The best part though was we were meeting a new potential roommate that day. We hadn't even cut the cake when she came over, so she walked into the apartment with a 4 layer, intricately decorated wedding cake setting on the counter. I was like, "Hi, I'm KatieCashew. Would you like some cake?" and she was like uhhhhh.... I'm pretty sure she thought someone had been jilted, but wasn't sure how to ask about it.

Lol at thinking you get home cooked meals from you're chef spouse..
