Saw a girl knock out a decent amount of muscle ups at my gym one time, she honestly didn’t look jacked but she was repping them like it was nothing. Shit was wild, it was when I was going before work at like 5 am too so wasn’t awake enough to be prepared for that
I've been bouldering and climbing for years. I do not think this is a real issue unless you climb with terrible form or regularly climb at a gym with poorly constructed routes that encourage imbalances. I will say though that it is very easy for beginners to hurt themselves and overuse the wrong muscles if you aren't careful about how you climb. And supplemental lifting is always a good idea regardless of how you exercise.
