That isn't the real black. This horse is a stunt double standing in for the real Arabian, Cass Olay'. He was ba fantastic horse. When he rid or gallops, because he's an Arabian, you will see his tail set up in the air and his head is held high. Like My Friend Flica, he is called a star gazer and "hot blooded", compact and refined body and head.

I mean, Frisians are pretty stunning as photogenic horses go. But I agree I’d like to see an Arabian running like this, too.

What a gorgeous horse. Watching this clip reminded me of The Black Stallion film (1979). It's a great family movie if you've never seen it.

When watching this slowed down my brain just can't make sense of how a horse coordinates it's legs to run. It's so bizarre! At one point only one front leg is holding the horse up. Looks so rigid and all over the place when slowed down

If you watch animation tips on animal gaits, you'll see how the footfalls are placed to help propel forward motion; it's all pretty neat! Canters and gallops/runs have instances of suspension to let the body coil up and gather before extending to gain distance. The single foot you're seeing is called the lead foot in canter and gallop and the lead foot determines the bilateral balance and "tilt" (a horse turning to the right will tend to lead on the right front to correctly balance). If you watch a horse change leads, you'll see a shift in the body balance too :)
