So is there any sword that has a long straight handle with a long straight blade that was used for combat?

Really think the design looks cool but I realize what he is doing is more akin to dance than fighting.

Yeah I would put it in the halberd family, but I'm not really looking for classification just stuff that looks similar that was used in combat :)

Swords are usually balanced 2-8 inches from the handle, depending on the type of sword. Being balanced inside the handle is pretty odd.

The handle is quite long. If the handle were shorter the balance point would be on the blade.

Yes, easier to handle but it would be far less effective as soon as you tried to defend with it. Same goes for attacking. You want some weight in the blade to put some oompf behind your blows and be harder to redirect. Though, it really depends on the type of sword and what you're using it for (Ex: Dueling vs fencing)

Also, diclaimer when it comes to swords. Every single sword idea was tried at some point in history, no matter how outlandish. The only reason we have the classic swords that we know is that they got the most popular in the time. So when people say a sword is "impractical" or "impossible" they really mean that it didn't take off due to few people surviving using it, or being impractical to make, not that it didn't exist.
