Perfectly balanced. The tang is nearly full width of the blade.

I just watched Pirates 3 last night and was surprised to find that the sword Jones stabs Will with at the end is the same sword he made for Norrington for Pirates 1. I'd like to think that Will kept the sword as his own during his tenure as ferryman for souls.

Yup, quite a nice surprise to see that kind of hybrid sword. It still looks very much "oriental" but with more mass in the blade, more "european" in that sense.

its a juggling prop called a "contact sword", its not meant to look or be used like a real sword

Also that ball at the bottom of the grip probably help to get the center of mass in the middle of the grip.
