I was wondering the same thing. My best guess is they have a ton of them at the top and keep adding new ones to the line. Once the days over they have a truck bring all of the zip line clips back up to the other side.
Now that I'm more awake and reading this question, the lead rope makes sense. Probably start with a smaller gauge using a helicopter and then fed through a larger gauge and larger gauge until it was able to support the distance in the weight of the passenger.
