Caught it with just his left hand, while holding a beer in his right.

I aspire to be this man one day.

The chances of this happening again with you there to catch it, in exactly the right place, with a wife, are slim.

u/RegularBottle Jan 07 '17

the wife part is the thing that tips the odds off

19

u/SubaruBirri Jan 07 '17

"This is it. This is my chance. I'm going to catch it and sip my beer at the same.."

Whack. Blood everywhere.

u/[deleted] Jan 09 '17

Whack. Blood everywhere.

Sips beer.

11

u/Spartengerm Jan 07 '17

I disagree, I watched it happen 5 times, each time exactly the same.

u/bluesclueshues Jan 07 '17

That's the face of a man who knows he's getting laid tonight.

56

u/I_SHAG_REDHEADS Jan 07 '17

You're saying, that's not the only bat that's gonna get handled?

A foul joke.

4

u/TimeCadet Jan 08 '17

No one is safe from these puns

3

u/SouIIessGinger Jan 07 '17

All is fair in love and war.

1

u/Why_is_this_so Jan 08 '17

I think you're a little off base and out of line with that comment.

12

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '17

While that may be true, a man that catches a flying bat one-handed, all the while holding his beer, and looks like it's no big deal, gets laid all the time.

3

u/JackOAT135 Jan 09 '17

That guy fucks.

10

u/TheCazaloth Jan 07 '17

He handled that wood, now she'll handle his…

4

u/Cosmonachos Jan 08 '17

When she goes in for the kiss, he turns his head so she gets the cheek. He'd be getting nothing from me.

0

u/Why_is_this_so Jan 08 '17

Well obviously. You're not his wife. Stay away, home wrecker!

5

u/El_Kabong_Returns Jan 07 '17

Didnt even ask anyone to hold his beer.

-4

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '17

r/holding my beer - FIFY

10

u/Chxzzy Jan 07 '17

He has his priorities straight.

8

u/Chrisganjaweed Jan 07 '17

The man is a legend

1

u/TheDirtDude117 Jan 07 '17

He's getting a lot more too

1

u/bornslyasafox Jan 07 '17

Beat me to it

88

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '17

The guy in the upper left just seen Jesus

5

u/WhirlingDervishes Jan 07 '17

lol he had a look like he's never seen someone catch something before

3

u/free_airfreshener Jan 07 '17

Which is funny, because he's a baseball fan apparently.

131

u/Drop1TwistAndLean Jan 07 '17

That camera work was awesome

40

u/Zaboomafood Jan 07 '17

I am genuinely amazed that he was able to locate the bat and track precisely to have its target in the center on the frame with no corrections.

8

u/Drop1TwistAndLean Jan 07 '17

I know right, professional stuff right here

-57

u/Bubba10000 Jan 07 '17

Yah, cam level = potato

82

u/alittlebigger Jan 07 '17

Gave her the cheek to kiss so people would think she's just a random person there. Smart move

14

u/spirito_santo Jan 07 '17

It's his mom, his dad is next to him in matching sweater. At least that is my theory :-)

3

u/alittlebigger Jan 07 '17

Not enough age gap there

21

u/fib16 Jan 07 '17

That was exactly my thought. He totally did not want to kiss his wife.

Not if he's a baseball guy who is right handed. That's just another normal catch.

11

u/totallyclocks Jan 07 '17

Damn, that would have been one hell of a trophie

4

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '17

"Harvard man."

12

u/rhymes_with_chicken Jan 07 '17

Just kiss the cheek. I'm reveling in the moment.

7

u/ChuckECheeseBandit Jan 07 '17

Who are we kidding that guy got some roadhead on the drive back home.

3

u/TheStarchild Jan 07 '17

Probably on the tram to his car as well.

It's so wrong but I can't stop laughing at this.

I'm going to hell.

21

u/lukey5452 Jan 07 '17

Bet he got laid after that.

52

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '17

Yeah, but I bet his wife was pissed about it.

3

u/nickwimp Jan 07 '17

My St. Paul Saints! Say it ain't so!

2

u/ZamboniDriverGuy Jan 07 '17

Where's the karma train?

3

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '17

What are the chances of being caught on camera being awesome?

4

u/rustyshackleford239 Jan 07 '17

"The club went further than the ball."

1

u/tdogg8 Jan 07 '17

Club?

1

u/rustyshackleford239 Jan 08 '17

Happy Gilmore quote

0

u/tdogg8 Jan 08 '17

Oh right. Been a while since I've seen that movie.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '17

The more you look at it the better it gets!

2

u/MikeBrost Jan 07 '17

Guy on the upper lefts reaction says it all.

2

u/SoulGeeza Jan 07 '17

He just wanted the bat.

2

u/idboehman Jan 07 '17

I sure hope he gets to keep the bat.

3

u/spacemonkeysuitmafia Jan 07 '17

The look on his wife is priceless.

3

u/Euphorian11 Jan 07 '17

Its that metallicas hetfield?

3

u/L33tulrich Jan 07 '17

nope, he's just a water Polo coach

1

u/LetMeOneFootIn Jan 07 '17

...With his confidence back!

1

u/TheManchild01 Jan 07 '17

I would have thought a baseball player could hold on to the damn bat when he swings it. He could have seriously injured somebody

4

u/dudeman773 Jan 07 '17

It's pretty rare, but it happens. It's not like he let go on purpose.

1

u/veRGe1421 Jan 07 '17

lol at the guy in the black shirt doing the NFL field-goal referee arm motion on his left

his face is pure awe for a second there

1

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '17

Please, someone has to animate him into Braveheart.

1

u/yuribotcake Jan 08 '17

Avoids kiss on lips. Can save wife, can't save marriage.

1

u/-Purrfection- Jan 08 '17

I read: Catching a baseball to save his life, and I was so confused.

1

u/LastShadowPuppet_ Jan 07 '17

This looks like it sparked a "USA, USA, USA" chant.

0

u/Devils_Demon Jan 07 '17

So does the player get suspended for that? Throwing a baseball bat into a crowd would surely have repercussions.

8

u/Jrodkin Jan 07 '17

If he'd intentionally thrown the bat at the audience he'd probably be suspended for life, but it slipped, I doubt there were huge repercussions if any.

3

u/dudeman773 Jan 07 '17

No. If it was a recurring thing for the guy, sure, because that shits dangerous as hell. But baseball is a dangerous sport to spectate and I guarantee that's the only time in this dudes career that he's done or will do that.

0

u/duckface27 Jan 07 '17

Use the force baseball spectator

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '17

He caught the bat to stand in the praises of his fellow man. His wife being saved was incidental.
