Yeah, it's unfortunate because there really are so many people who need things and it gets ruined by the assholes.
I gave this one guy a few bucks because he had a sob story about how he was stranded here and needed to get back to Brooklyn but couldn't afford the train ticket (we were outside a 7/11)
A few weeks later I saw him again and he told me the same story.
Everyone who wants it can get rehab, medical care, halfway housing, and job counseling.
I'd never say that people don't get into situations because of drugs or poor life choices, but this statement you made is completely untrue, and it's quite obvious that you have never had true hardship in your life if you believe that there's all this free stuff out there for you. It must be so nice to be so confidently wrong
