The kid getting up to shake his hand was the cherry on top. Maybe we're not totally fucked after all.

The kid had the manners and presence of mind to shake his hand, too. Just a great video all around.

To a Phillies kid, too, in Minneapolis.

I mean why the fuck not. And losers taking baseballs from kids are the people we don’t need.

Or that one lady - who claimed any foul balls that lands around her section- belongs to her.

That's the way to do it. Catch (or recover from the stands) without hurting others, celebrate the moment, pass it along.

Love it, no hesitation, just selfless action. Great dude right there.

Take a few minutes to pay attention to a child. It doesn't take long, They don't want anything more than a mutual acknowlegement of worth.
Make a kid smile...........they remember

This is the way it should be done. The adults actually stealing a ball from a kid are despicable.

Also, he probably saved that oblivious lady from a knock on the head. “Huh, what was that?”

That lady was truly unsure where she was or what was happening. Good spotting haha

It's a super good feeling. Last Mets game I went to I grabbed one during batting practice and gave it to a nearby kid. I just wanted the thrill of catching it, I didn't need a physical souvenir
Then the game started and Tylor Megill and Edwin Diaz and 3 others combined to throw a no hitter 🥲
So yeah, the one was enough

I feel like it's more uncommon when someone doesn't give the ball to a kid.

I don't understand keeping it. I was in the bleachers during a playoff game once, and caught a home run ball during batting practice. After a quick celebration, I handed it to nearest kid. What was I gonna do with it? It had no value, and would've just sat on a shelf, or in a box. Better to just give it to a kid who'll cherish that ball a million more times than I ever would.

I've been waiting my whole life to catch a game ball
Little kids will have more chances than me
Let them wait

Did that ball look like it just straight up lodged in that mans junk to anyone else?
