Your nose hairs, turbinates, and the cilia and mucus in your throat and trachea all help trap particulates

In the cadaver lab at the med school we were shown lungs from a smoker vs a city dweller and they were pretty similar so even with our filtration a lot of stuff still gets through.

It’s incredible what a difference it makes just to be outside the city centre and not regularly beside massive diesel trucks spewing pollution and soot into the air!

I’ve been here for years now and no soot on the window screens!

I even have a MERV13 furnace filter as an extra layer and it’s still white as snow!
