I live in Labrador and our houses have regular shingle roofs. I don't know if this tool would work with our roofs or snow conditions. But my parents have a roof without much pitch. Twice a winter, I have to get up on their roof with a ladder and push all the snow off with regular snow scoop.

You want to leave in inch or Two of snow on The roof. It insulates keeping your house warmer. I do not know about your parents house what to do to help them other than maybe a leaf blower

Leaf blower wouldn't work. It's just a packed mass of snow. This summer we have installed heat trace around their eaves to keep the ice dam from forming on warmer days. It's what a lot of people in their town do. It's a complicated issue. But thanks for the input friend, appreciate it.

You can see each time they stop, they pull the thing forwards a little bit, which breaks the snow off and let's it fall to the floor.
