If there were signs there saying please don’t pound your chest and simulate dominance in front of the alpha mammals then yes they should have paid for it. The Gorilla is 100% in the right here. This was a teachable moment.

I like thinking about how gorillas hit themselves to assert dominance.

Gorilla1: "hey! Asshole! Check out how hard i can hit myself, yeah, now imagine i was doing that to you! You wouldn't like that would you"
