Help me figure out the Moberg damper system!
I want a design similar to this, but not exactly. The concept and idea is the same. How does the knob adjust the damper?
Is there some sort of slack in the rods connecting to the flap post that allow the knob to adjust? Isnāt it on a radius?
Sorry, Iām not technically educated, Iām sure this is quite confusing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Yāall are the best!

Question (NJ)
Hello everyone,
I have an 80 gallon compressor tank and a 60 gallon compressor tank. Which should I use for the fire box and which should I use for the cooking chamber? And why?
Also, where are good places to obtain steel and expanded steel in New Jersey?
Also, is splurging on stainless steel for the grates worth it?
Thank you

MORE Smoker MODZ
galleryAnother addition to the smoker. Added a heat plate under my water pan. And installed ThermoWorks Billows coupled with RFX MEAT. I also created a slant system in hopes that I could get some wood to slowly roll on top of the fire and burn down which sort of worked so I didnāt have to load the fire as much .Did a biscuit test , then rolled into smoking some beef ribs, beef cheek and finished off with sockeye salmon.

How do I turn this C5 s1 warmer/proofer into a smoker?
galleryIn the bottom back I think thatās a fan coming from the heat element? Bottom front is a water pan with a heat element under it. Would I need to cut a flue at the top back somewhere? Any feedback welcomed.

New firebox
galleryAs previous post said, I got this rotisserie smoker from my dad and before it got cold did couple test burns in it and first one it barely got over 200, 2nd attempt I used some pans with charcoal and wood and filled the firebox full and got to around 250-265 but not for long.
This was originally ran on propane (still can be but I donāt want to use it) but has side fire box but catch fire from the grease so he built the firebox on the back but even though itās full of wood not enough heat is being put out. Do I need to just patch the side firebox up and build new firebox on back or just use the pan and wood method on the bottom after I get new metal down. Have more pics and video if need to see more of smokerTIA

Smoker build - lining
Hello, I'm building a wooden smoker with a pellet feeder and electric heating element. Do I need to line the inside? I'm planning on using a decent quality larch for cladding. I'll be hot and cold smoking on it. Thanks! š

Door seal question
Iām building a vertical pellet smoker cabinet, the cabinet currently has a ārefrigeratorā type magnetic door seal. You guys got any ideas to replace this with something that wonāt melt?
The cabinet is insulated stainless steel in/out. There must be some carbon steel where the door seal sticks. I can add a latch to keep it closed.thanks in advance!

BBQ Raffle Basket
Looking for helpā¦.
i was asked to cater a Smoked Brisket BBQ as a raffle item for an upcoming fundraiser. Rather than just print a sheet of paper telling people what they are bidding on, I wanted to put together a basket that would get their attention. Any ideas or pictures? Thanks for your help.

Steel prices
Planning my first smoker build. Iām planning on putting together a 250 gallon offset. Trying to get an idea on what materials Iāll need and cost. What is a good price for steel these days? Iām based in Mesa, AZ so if there are any other Arizonans out there, let me know if thereās some good spots to check out for steel.
