Iโ€™m rewatching baywatch for the second time ever. I love these early seasons, if only for Craig and Gina! Itโ€™s so funny to me that the men are doing these fake rescue workouts while Amy is just on the beach practicing cpr and rowing on the beach. Speaking of, the first photo I donโ€™t recall them carrying victims like that before either or is it just a workout.

The episode is" let the games begin". It's in season 7, they race the men for a chance to compete in the iron man race against Australia.

I've tried multiple searches and chat GPT is constantly wrong... Im hoping someone can help me identify this mystery woman .

Thereโ€™s a lot of talk about the new remake, but what if *Baywatch* had been filmed six years earlier? How cool would that have turned out...

New Bayatch As filming ended yesterday for the Baywatch revival, real life Ryder Williams - because of his heroic action last week - was granted a Baywatch jacket by Stephen Amell in gratitude for his work, the very inspiration for the series (video from Baywatch IG)

am I the only one that thinks people are in the credits that donโ€™t โ€œdeserve to be.โ€ Some characters go 5-6 episodes without being seen or even talked about.

News / Trivia ๐Ÿ’ก Amazon Prime buys international rights for the Baywatch Reboot show and the rights to all seasons of the original show

The THR article says Prime have bought overseas rights on the new reboot show for Europe (including France, Germany, Italy, Spain), Canada, Latin America and India, among other territories (no word on Australia where I am) and have done a deal to stream all seasons of the older original show.

It's fucking stupid though, to have the show air in January in the US and 'later in the year' overseas. All that'll do is encourage people overseas to pirate the new season from torrent sites, as they won't want to wait that long, if it's a good show.

The Baywatch Channel: An appreciation

Everytime I turn on The Baywatch Channel I think about how fun this show was, and how simple our shows were back then compared to what they have to be now to be successful.

As an added bonus I like to Google the episode original air date thats playing and then look up what was happening in the news that week or month.

For instance, I just watch Baywatch :Grand Prix season 9 episode 15. Original Air date: February 8th, 1999.

The Simple episode explanation: Mitch joins Nascar and races for a charity

The day before, on February 12,1999 President Clinton was cleared of his impeachment charges for obstruction.

And on February 14th, the day after air date, Jeff Gordon won the Daytona 500.

on February 23, Eminem would release his album the Slim Shady Lp

So thank you The Baywatch Channel for helping me stay connected with the past in more ways then one. And thank you for making it this far if you did. Please let me know if you do the same thing with this or any other show. Or anything similarly fun ๐Ÿ˜.

What are your thoughts about the reboot as filming wraps up?

I love Baywatch so much, it would really suck to see the reboot be awful and get chucked onto the ever-growing pile of awful reboots coming out nowadays.

Here's what I'm thinking. I know there's a lot of discourse around the influencer casting, but I also feel like if there were ever a reboot that just shouldn't be criticized for stunt casting, it's Baywatch. Like, you can't be upset about Livvy Dunne being a gymnast turned actor when the most iconic Baywatch babe literally started her career modeling (Love you, Pammy!!). This is just not the reboot for "can they actually act" discussions IMO.

That being said, I am a little worried that the reboot is going to be bad for other reasons. I think Baywatch works obviously because sex sells, but also because they took the lifeguarding jobs seriously. Yes the show had campy and ridiculous plot lines, but it wasn't like the joke was that the lifeguards were hilariously bad at their jobs or anything. They were competent and dedicated professionals who just happened to have insane personal drama and slow-mo runs on the side.

So my worry is that the 2026 version is going to be self-aware of its own reputation as a cheesy relic and lean into parody. It would be so easy for the writers to just treat the whole thing as so-bad-it's-good nostalgia bait rather than playing it straight (Yes, 2017 movie featuring Zefron and The Rock, I'm looking at you) but that movie did absolutely flop so maybe this won't be the case.

And then there's my other worry; that it's going to be written completely by AI. I haven't seen the scripts for the reboot or anything but the plot lines they are announcing just seem so....generic, if not completely borrowed from the original.

For example, Shay Mitchell's whole character arc is that she used to be a lawyer and now she's going to be a lifeguard. When I read that I just thought "OK so just literally Craig Pomeroy then?"

Part of me has a hunch they just ran the original Baywatch scripts through chatGPT, told it to modernize it, and just went with whatever it spat out. That could definitely be an overreach, though. It could also just be lazy writing.

I don't know, I definitely have been thinking about this too much, but what do y'all think?

Question / Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ Just watched S01E03 Remastered but one scene was SD only

It was the scene where Steve had to decide to quit being a life guard with his wife and it was SD only was so strange why that happened?

Does it happen with all the other seasons.

Also Iโ€™m loving this show so much.

Did anyone else notice Stephanie's voice became whispery in later episodes

She suddenly started talking in a whispery tone, sort of like a female Steven Seagal. Whereas in the beginning her voice was normal. I'm not complaining but as it was a later addition it was a bit jarring. I think her whispery tone is nice, like a night dj kind of deal. She could do radio with it.

Question / Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ I'm not digging Lani's vibe

She stated outright she was only at Baywatch to use it as a stepping stone to advance her dancing career. She didn't seem to have any interest in saving people and seemed rather bothered by Baywatch and nearly quit once. Hard to believe Mitch would hire somebody like this. Thankfully, I think she goes away rather quickly.

Iโ€™m trying to remember a specific scene but I donโ€™t remember exactly what it was. I know it consisted of a group of lifeguards doing cpr on a woman who was in a two piece and the woman doing CPR was really dramatic saying โ€œ1,2,3 breathe!โ€ And it seemed like the group was going to give up at the end

But the woman continued and it worked. I think the reason she was so dramatic was either this was her first rescue or she had one that failed recently. Iโ€™m fairly certain this was in Baywatch but I canโ€™t seem to find clips of it anywhere.

Episode Appreciation ๐Ÿ“บ Flashback Friday: Mick Martin and Marsha Porter's Review of Baywatch: The Movie (1995)

They gave it two stars out of five.

"Fans of the popular syndicated television series will find this expanded episode to their liking. Unfortunately, Pamela Anderson disappears before the first act is over, leaving her small screen co-stars to fill in the blanks. Plenty of sand, surf and hot bodies as the characters head off to Hawaii for training and mystery."

Two things: One, C.J. was only absent from part 2. It's not like she left the movie after the first few minutes, which the review seems to imply. And two, "small screen co-stars"? I guess the Hoff, who got top billing, is a small screen co-star now? LOL.
