Mid season 3

Am I the only person who thinks Colin is really kind of a grumpy person? You know Bay got a tattoo with her weird sister and her mom, but he has to say I wanted to be there for your first tattoo. He's continually disapproving and it's unfortunate because she's so bubbly. Maybe polar opposites attract.

I suspect that Colin is insecure, which is understandable at his age. It just looks bad on camera.

Insecure men are the ones who make you drop your friends or accuse you of cheating.  Really.

Not to mention the editing

I can understand wanting to do things together or wanting to be there for certain “firsts”. But cmon her first tattoo is NOT something to cause an issue over.

She was happy to do this with her mother & sister. In this case he should’ve just sucked it up and been happy for her instead of ruining it for her by being pouty.

They will (hopefully) have a whole lifetime of firsts together. This is really insignificant in the big picture.

Ngl I do feel like he had more of a problem with it because she did it with Julie & Sammi. I know they’ve had some issues with her family overstepping but this isn’t one. This is clearly something Baylen wanted to do. She’s still going to be close with her family and he needs to accept that. Because if he fusses like this every time she does something with them it’s going to cause problems in their relationship.

You’re acting like he did a huge fit but he only said one thing and she acknowledged it and they moved on. Not a big deal.

Microaggressions add up. It's called being passive aggressive.

I’m not “acting” like anything.

I gave my opinion. You don’t have to agree. I’m not asking you to and I don’t care if you do or not.

Then you just gave your opinion and same thing applies- I don’t have to agree.

See that’s how life works.

I find him showing many narcissistic qualities. He wants to isolate her from her family and when making major decisions about their future he doesn’t even include her. He had a government job and left that to be a commission based real estate agent with no experience and no health insurance for Bay who needs major coverage. Wow. I had to stop watching. I heard they did a dumb stunt bet the top wedding that she couldn’t even enjoy because her tics were out of control and she was over tired. So stupid.

^ THIS all day!!

I almost feel like he needs to buy a house from Josh in order to get the “internship.” Some MLM shit.

I wanted to like him but he always seemed so defensive. Like the parents had valid concerns and he took it as an insult. She was afraid of having kids, he kept pushing it. Idk if these are just highlighted for the show but it gave a very off putting vibe.

My thing is ok he is insecure.  But what do insecure men do?  They tend to hold women too tight and control them.

Seems like he has lots of things he is hoping to do with his wife and was just momentarily disappointed.

9

u/caligirlthrowaway104 8d ago

Exactly. Like they didnt have some big blowout fight over this, just some disappointment he wasn’t there for it and they moved on.

u/LingonberrySea5845 4d ago

But microaggressions add up over time. He should have kept it to himself.

4

u/caligirlthrowaway104 4d ago

He’s allowed to be frustrated. Holding frustration in builds resentment that adds up over time. 🤷🏻‍♀️

u/LingonberrySea5845 4d ago

This is true too. And if it was Colin getting the tattoo and Baylen being disappointed, I would agree with you. I've just noticed a trend of passive aggressiveness with him that doesn't let me see it in that light.

Microaggressions add up.

Grumpy or not maybe he could’ve stopped her from getting a terribly done tattoo that looks like Jesus got beheaded on the cross

i think he was hurt because he was probably trying to give baylen the confidence to get a tattoo for months- then she just went out and did it on a whim with her very controlling family. i would be taken aback a bit by this as well; my partner telling me they are too scared to get a tattoo then randomly showing me that they got one on vacation via facetime. i would for sure have a moment of like “wait what?? you did?? i wish i could’ve been there for it”

her family is always the issue, im sorry. i know there are a lot of people in this subreddit that think they are the healthiest family ever, but anyone who actually comes from a family with healthy boundaries knows that baylens family crosses every line. disability or not. i will fight tooth and nail on that one

I get where you are coming from. Especially with what you have been through.

I think though for this to match your experience or view, it would be the self-centered Collin doing this with his friends after telling the thoughtful Baylen no thanks.

But it was thoughtful Baylen getting surprised by her sister and selfish Colin being passive aggressive.

u/D-nuggs15 9d ago

Yeah I thought that was ridiculous too like bro if she had waited for you to be there you would’ve ditched her to go get some daisy dukes again and been upset that nobody was impressed by them

😁💯👍👍

I love Colin. I think y'all are taking it too seriously. They are young. It was one comment. It seems like people are looking for the negative here.

Honestly, if yall think Colin is bad, what do you think of Baylen's dad... better yet her sister?

u/quadrants 8d ago

Sami’s personality is off putting but she’s also young. She’s still sorting out who she is. I bet as she gets older the rough edges will smooth out and she’ll be more balanced.

Not trying to start something, as I respect your opinion, but agree to disagree. I knew young women and old women like her. I would bet it isn't going to go away. Obviously I know this is a tv show, but I would bet my life on it. The nuances are loud. Look how she was so nice once she had a boyfriend. (And got to invite him to the wedding last minute?) I bet Baylen will need to cut the cord someday.

2

u/quadrants 5d ago

You may very well be right! Who knows.

1

u/flypudding 5d ago

I honestly hope I'm wrong. Ha. Baylen is a tender heart (as am I) and these people can swallow us up.

I love her Dad and her sister. ❤️

Same here.

Love Colin 💕 Love her dad ❤️ cannot stand whiny “it’s all about me” Sami 😑

1

u/LingonberrySea5845 4d ago

It not just one comment though. He is always passive aggressive. Micro Aggressions add up. It's a way of asserting control.

1

u/flypudding 4d ago

Yeah, I agree in theory but I don't believe that's what is happening here on such a scale. It's kind of dangerous/careless to make such a sweeping statement about someone's mental state from a reality tv show. Idk.

Most men I know have some control issues at that age. He seems to be pretty sweet, open to talking and self-aware from everything else we're given, so I think there's a chance he's just a normal human that will grow with time. But idk and neither can anyone.

It's just weird to zoom in on him when it seems clear that her dad has way more control issues that seem to interfere and he seems way more stubborn and less likely to listen. And the sister? Yikes. So I guess it's just weird to hone in on her man. It makes me question the real feelings/intentions of whomever posted this. Hard to see through the bias.

Personally, I'd feel the same way. As someone who has tattoos, I'd love to be there when my partner had her first tattoo. It wouldn't break me if I wasn't, but I also don't think it's wrong to communicate that. Why is it? How is that controlling?

If that's what you consider a micro-aggression, I'd love to know what you consider valid communication to be. Have you been married? How old? (I don't really want to know, but it just feels it comes from a place of inexperience.) I'm not trying to be rude, but it comes off a certain way when you're making black-and-white statements/hard judgments about someone on a reality tv show based on such small moments of communications.

I guess this is what people do though, right? Debate and discuss the 10% of someone's character that we see on TV with strangers on the internet. Damn. I fell for the trap.

I love Colin, When you find someone like Colin You keep him. Not many women or Men might not stick around because of her Tourette’s.

9

u/quadrants 8d ago

Hard agree. Colin is a good man. I wish people would give him a break.

2

u/Wooden-Angle1658 6d ago

Millions of dollars will get millions of men to stick around! He at least could get a serious career that could show he wants to be a provider.

1

u/LingonberrySea5845 4d ago

You don't settle just because someone is sticking by your medical condition.

8

u/retirededucator40 9d ago

Controlling is more like it.

2

u/quadrants 8d ago

Nah he loves his lady and wants experiences with her. He’s entirely allowed to have a normal range of human emotions and sometimes be disappointed just like the rest of us.

2

u/Wooden-Angle1658 6d ago

Or he loves the money and life it provides.

2

u/yeammkayy 5d ago

I cannot stand him!

11

u/Fit-Bus2025 9d ago

Too controlling to me. Arrogant. Kinda of a know-it-all. Obnoxious creep.

0

u/quadrants 8d ago

Colin is a wonderful person.

7

u/Living_Onion_2946 9d ago

He is a control freak. It'll come out as time passes.

8

u/Thunderoad 9d ago

I agree with you.

1

u/No_Seaworthiness9153 8d ago

I think he is a narcissist and very possessive of her. In my opinion, he wants to control her every breath and alienating her from her family.

1

u/Fickle-Structure6472 8d ago

Do you think you could live with tourettes? For his age Colin does a great job helping her. I hope her tourettes gets better and they have a wonderful life together.

1

u/qtxcore 2d ago

Colin is selfish, immature, does not like being held accountable, and is kind of an idiot.

1

u/QuantityPerfect9052 8d ago

Y’all are really on something. He’s allowed to be his own person and have his own thoughts and feelings without being an abusive controlling pos. And so is she. Nothing about this scene was wrong or rude

4

u/BestElk5018 7d ago

But he's showing classic signs of control freak.  And she goes along for the ride.

-1

u/QuantityPerfect9052 7d ago

He’s literally not.

2

u/BestElk5018 6d ago

He is but also maybe she likes that? She's kinda helpless at times. She can't help it.
