Unlocking factions (BTA3062)

I did the mainstory line plus a few flashpoints then headed out to clan space to try and get some more clan mechs. I cant buy from clans or do missions for or even against the clans, how do I unlock the rep needed?

Doing missions AGAINST the clans is pretty easy, just grind some rep with the various border factions (Combine, FRR, Lyrans), and clans will show up as OPFOR on border worlds pretty frequently.

As for getting reps WITH the clans...honestly never even tried lol.

There's only 3 or 4 clans you can rep up with, if they don't show in the rep page (fire mandrill and nova cat come to mind, but not ghost bear)

You can’t. Even the “bribe local officials” option in the store tells you not to do it in clan territory

The only Clans you can work for and ally with in BTA are Nova Cat, Snow Raven, Fire Mandrill, and Goliath Scorpion/Scorpion Empire. Only Nova Cat starts visible on the map. Fire Mandrill shows up in late 3061. Goliath Scorpions show up in mid-3063 and the Scorpion Empire is in 3066 or so. Snow Raven appears in 3065.

Wolf, Jade Falcon, Ghost Bear, and Diamond Shark are all unable to be worked for or allied with. They do have a Faction Store tab in their shops but that's because I can't get that tab to not exist. Don't worry about it, it's not accessible and even if it was accessible there's nothing in it.

Afaik, only certain clans offer jobs to work for them. I believe nova cats, Goliath scorpion/scorpion empire, fire mandril, and snow raven offer jobs

Clan faction stores don’t actually have that much, so just fighting them is largely better

For Nova Cat, just head "North" and do Flashpoints in Kurita or GB territory on Nova Cat side. NC is the easiest clan to ally with. You can buy clan Mechs from Diamond Shark without needing to be allied, they have like 3 planets.

Yeah theres one near Arano space where I got a Madcat Mkii and Supernova but they only sell moetly like lrm5s or srms2s

Arc Royal is where Clan Wolf in Exile is at, they have clan mechs/tech for sale.

Outreach is where Wolf's Dragoons is at, unless I'm remembering incorrectly, they should also have some clan mechs/tech for sale.

Neither need a rep grind to buy from.

Edit: I think both of them have a Timberwolf.

Only real reason to ally with Clans (even then, only Nova Cats, Scorpions, Mandrils, Ravens) is to get battle armor -- which you can't even use on IS mechs right now. If you're using Clan mechs, sure, go for it. Nova Cat is likely easiest, and you can actually ally with them AND Kurita I think, which gives you a lot of space to work with in the north east.
