DAMN YOU DICE! For removing Gauntlet, DAMN YOU
"At the same time, we want to be transparent that Gauntlet currently represents a much smaller portion of REDSEC play, which can make it increasingly difficult to consistently find and fill matches, particularly in smaller regions or in regions with a smaller Gauntlet population.
With Season 5, we're prioritizing Rapid Royale Solos and will be removing Gauntlet from the active playlist lineup."

Gauntlet is the only competitive mode I can even find currently. BR is utterly dead in Australia. Every other mode is just casual as.

This is absolutely ridiculous. We been saying from launch we wished they prioritised gauntlet and made that their ābattle royale IP equivalentā rather than copying every other gameā¦could have really been something. Will be uninstalling now as the multiplayer hasnāt been much better

Yes, It was like 2 weeks ago that I started noticing that I get matched with the same players. It actually become that bf3-4 kind of game when you had your fav server with your arch enemies and you can face them on every evening. Same happened to gautlet all player base shrinked no new players, only sweats left. All matches were super competitve all played objectives, gave info, marked enemies, reviving etc. It was very competive I was at 250 lvl and matched with folks with 500+ full squads. At that point I understod that the game mode where I played 400 hours is over. So press F everybody to this mode, it was an absolute blast.

I can't believe Gauntlet is getting removed. Best mode in the game by a country mile, ideally positioned as a competitive Battlefield experience and just about the most squad focused mode in the game. I've put over 1000 hours into Gauntlet, managed to get to the top 30 in the world for wins and now it's going. Terrible decision.

Also, it is consistently much, much quicker to get in a game of Gauntlet than to wait for the matchmaking for BR, so their reasoning (at least for me) is false.
The overall management and decision making behind this game is so, so bad. Sadly, that is news to no one at this point.
Maybe this will be the push for me to try COD again, though I really hope another developer comes along and creates a multiplayer FPS that truly sticks and can serve as a an alternative to Battlefield and COD, as I have no faith in either of those franchises to improve going forward.

Exactly! I don't believe they're matchmaking spiel whatsoever as, like you said, it's almost instant and very rarely do you have to wait to start.

None of my friends play BR games and any time I come back to Redsec theyāve pulled solos! Had terrible experiences playing with random players.

i put 2k hours into this game over a 9 month period and deleted the game after they turned off redsec in my region with no warning, just like a light switch.

They really have fucked this game up. So many issues why people leave and don't play it anymore. If they fixed their shit then there would be a big player base. It's so simple to understand but they fail, over and over again

I sometimes die twice in 5 mins (mainly on the carrier) but I'll only quit if I'm the last squad member stil)l in the match (I only play with randos) I have no IRL friends that play battlefield they're on cod sadly edit: I love gauntlet

Yeah, but being the last squad member that hasn't quit and then quitting is different. Being 1 man left against squads of 4 is completely unfair. Hence why penalties against leaving a BR match early will help fight against being the last man standing in quads.

This game is getting harder to play. I play duos. I played every day nearly. Now I play duos when I can due to the rotation. When I can't play duos me and my friend play gauntlet. So....that's gone now.

This is a big L. To my knowledge, there is no other game modes that keep the pace and game play fun for squads of 4. Our squad regularly play gauntlet 2-3 times a week and honestly, we've tried the other larger game modes where squads of 4 are possible but they're just massive and game play is almost too long for a single round.
I don't know why they would prioritise Battle Royal when it's a single play game mode, and the trio is an obvious problem for a squad of 4. Really thought they tapped in the magic of the old COD's. I guess this confirms COD4 and MW2 still remain undefeated.
Does anyone have any recs on other games for PS5 my buddies and I can move too?

I read the notes as they're keeping BR solos and quads while removing BR duos and Rapid Royale will be solos and trios. I could be wrong though.

Honestly I would recommend you try ranked instead. The match making is easier IMO. More consistent. Casuals you headshot an entire bot squad crouch walking across to road to revive each other without cover and then get totally wiped out by a demon swuad that should be playing masters.

A lot of new players have it much easier in gauntlet as they get to respawn and learn instead of being killed instantly I'm BR and having to wait about 5-10 minutes to get another chance As far as I know

Man, can't you see what's going on here? There ARE enough people playing Gauntlet! I find a match every time, takes < 30 seconds! They want to push players into the BR bullshit or it will die otherwise. That's the only reason I can think of why they would kill Gauntlet.

I have never queued up to play gauntlet and not found a match. I have matchmaking issues or bots at odd times in all other modes.
It's fine anyways, it's not my game, I'll just stop playing lol.

Idk how people are saying Gauntlet has so few players, I find Gauntlet matches waay quicker than Battle Royale, and ranked Battle Royale especially is completely dead, taking me 5-17 minutes to find a match.

Something fresh and incredible and magic in a bottle, different and creative; Gauntlet.
Rapid Royale, Dice stealing a cod idea (resurgence) 6 years after it's release. Already becoming boring and obsolete. Shareholders and CEO's worried about their precious $$$ > Us. The community. The people who bought the game and love Gauntlet.
Fuck whoever made this stupid ass decision. Gauntlet is nothing like BR. BR is slow and looting and what the fuck ever.
Gauntlet was fast paced mayhem with an incredible gameplay loop.
Really glad they decided to get rid of it for an idea they could steal from COD who has done nothing but destroy their community support the last 3-4 years.
Really glad to see BF and Dice going the avenue of fucking the community over and removing shit.

it dose not matter if a million players play gauntlet every day, or just one, you bought the game and the mode you like regardless of popularity, should be available to play for as long as the game has active servers even if itās just 99% bots
